Former Kentucky running back Jamarion Wilcox has pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct in connection with an incident that took place Aug. 20, 2025, in Lexington.
Court records from Fayette County Circuit Court show Wilcox entered the plea on July 31. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Sept.
- According to his plea documents, the charge carries a maximum penalty of one year in prison and a $500 fine.
Wilcox had already been suspended from Kentucky for the entire 2025 season after the incident.
The woman who filed a protective order - whom The Courier Journal is not identifying as a victim of alleged sexual assault - said Wilcox entered her room at 1 a.m. without permission while he was visiting her roommate in their apartment. In her petition, she said she told him he was in the wrong room after he walked in while she was sleeping.
After she asked where her roommate was, the petition says Wilcox proceeded "to laugh" and attempted "to start touching me again."
She said she left the room and spoke with her roommate. The petition also says the roommate tried to get Wilcox to leave the woman’s bed, but "he refused for a couple of minutes."
The woman then called 911.
"The police came to my apartment to escort him out," she wrote, "in which he refused to do so for at least 20 minutes."
Fayette District Court later ordered Wilcox to "be restrained from committing further acts of abuse or threats of abuse, stalking or sexual assault" and required him to avoid "any unauthorized contact" with the alleged victim. He was also ordered to stay at least 500 feet away from her.
On the field, Wilcox led Kentucky in rushing yards in 2024 with 590 and scored two touchdowns. After his suspension for the 2025 season, he entered the transfer portal and signed with Marshall. He is no longer listed on the Thundering Herd’s roster.
