Kentucky volleyball coach Craig Skinner reached a major benchmark yesterday, and he did it in style. The Wildcats beat South Florida 3-0 to give Skinner his 500th career win, a number that puts him in rare company in the SEC.
With the milestone, Skinner became only the second SEC coach in conference history to win 500 matches at one school, joining Florida’s Mary Wise. Kentucky marked the occasion with a postgame ceremony that included video messages from several former colleagues, coaches, players and assistant coaches, along with members of Skinner’s family and friends.
Skinner has been at the helm of Kentucky since 2004, and the run has been defined by sustained success. Under his leadership, the program has climbed to national prominence, highlighted by a national championship in 2020 and two Final Four appearances. That stretch has also made him the winningest coach in Kentucky program history.
