Kansas State is making an early push on one of Texas’ top young cornerbacks.
Dailon Denkins, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound defensive back from Fort Bend (Texas) High School, recently picked up an offer from the Wildcats. Denkins is a four-star recruit according to 247 Sports, is part of the 2028 class, and is generally viewed as one of the top 25 cornerbacks in the country. He already holds 15 FBS scholarship offers.
The Wildcats have also been active on a few other fronts in the class.
At defensive end, Kansas State offered Julian Dwyer, who plays at Cincinnati Moeller High School. Dwyer is a three-star recruit, ranked 16th in Ohio by 247 Sports, and already has offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Illinois and Indiana.
Another defensive line target is Jekai Lee, a 6-foot-6, 280-pound prospect from Butler Community College. Lee’s other offers include Florida International, Georgia State, Southern Mississippi and University of Texas-San Antonio.
Kansas State also added two tight ends to its offer list. Brady Reeves, a three-star from Hill-Murray High School in Maplewood, MN, is ranked just outside the top 20 at his position on 247Sports.
He also has offers from Vanderbilt, Iowa State and Miami (OH). Last season, Reeves caught 25 passes for 327 yards and nine touchdowns.
Sloan Blackwell, who attends Waco Midway High School in Waco, TX, was offered Tuesday night. He has also been offered by Arizona, Syracuse and Arizona State. Last season, Blackwell finished with 18 receptions for 254 yards and two touchdowns, per MaxPreps.
The Wildcats’ recent list of offers also includes offensive lineman Jerry Richmond of East St. Louis High School in East St.
Louis, IL. Richmond has received offers from Florida Atlantic, North Carolina and South Dakota.
Asher Megonnell is the latest offensive tackle to be offered.

Kansas State has spent the opening stretch of the season looking like a team comfortable in its own skin under Collin Klein, which is no small thing this early in a new era. K-State May Have A Backfield Advantage Most Teams Don't
Joe Jackson is no longer Kansas States starter in the backfield, but the Wildcats have hardly lost him from the offense. Through two games, he has still been productive as a runner and receiver, piling up 106 rushing yards, a touchdown and 96 receiving yards with two more scores while sharing the workload with Rodney Fields.
Collin Klein has praised Jacksons role even with Fields now handling the primary carries, and that kind of one-two punch can be a real edge for an offense trying to stay multiple.
