Kansas State Gets A Crucial Oklahoma State Spot At The Worst Time

Kansas State prepares to face off against Oklahoma State, who boast a formidable offense, in a much-anticipated matchup at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

The Big 12 has set Kansas State’s next kickoff, and it comes with a noon start and a national TV window.

The Wildcats will host Oklahoma State on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. The game is scheduled for noon CT and will air on TNT.

Both teams are coming off losses that ended with the other side celebrating in the wake of a field storming. Kansas State dropped an Oct. 31 overtime game at Colorado, a result that pushed the Wildcats to 4-4 overall and 1-4 in Big 12 play. They’ve now lost four of their last five.

The quarterback situation has been a moving target for Kansas State, too. Avery Johnson has been out for the last two weeks, and the Wildcats have used four different quarterbacks over the last three games while trying to find some stability.

Oklahoma State arrives at 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the Big 12 after falling at Iowa State on a 34-yard field goal at the horn. That was the Cowboys’ second loss in their last three games under first-year coach Eric Morris. Their offense has been one of the country’s best, with NFL QB prospect Drew Mestemaker leading the way.

Kansas State’s remaining 2026 schedule now has one more date locked in, with the rest still to be determined by kickoff time. After Oklahoma State, the Wildcats are set to play at TCU on Nov. 14, host Arizona on Nov. 21 and finish at Iowa State on Nov. 28.

Collin Klein Did Not Hide His Frustration After Colorado Loss

Collin Klein did not try to soften the blow after Kansas States loss at Colorado, and there was no mistaking the level of frustration in his postgame comments. He said the Wildcats are not playing or coaching good football right now, pointing to problems in blocking, tackling and overall execution while also lamenting missed chances on both sides of the ball.

Even with the disappointment, Klein made a point of crediting his players for their effort and said the performance falls on him as much as anyone else. For a team trying to steady itself after a rough result, the bigger concern is not just the scoreboard but how quickly those recurring issues can be corrected before they become a pattern. Kansas State Fans Will Be Arguing This Boulder Decision All Week

Kansas States trip to Boulder ended with another gut-punch finish, this one a 27-24 overtime loss to Colorado that left plenty for the Wildcats to sort through on the flight home. Dillon Duff got the start at quarterback, but Blake Barnett eventually took over and helped keep the offense in the game, giving Kansas State enough production to stay within striking distance despite a night that never felt fully under control.

The bigger concern was on the other side of the ball, where Colorado found too much room on the ground and repeatedly put Kansas State in difficult spots. The defensive issues were hard to miss, and the performance only sharpened the scrutiny on the Wildcats defensive coordinator as fans tried to make sense of how a winnable game slipped away in overtime. Kansas States Big 12 Push Took A Hit For One Frustrating Reason

Colorados win over Kansas State on Oct. 31 came with a familiar kind of frustration for the Wildcats, the sort that can swing a Big 12 race in a hurry. The Buffaloes got a major lift from defensive player Yamil Talib, who piled up two sacks and six tackles before halftime, while Richard Young helped steady the offense with 56 rushing yards and a touchdown in the first half.

For Kansas State, the bigger issue was the quarterback situation, which had already been complicated by injuries before the opening kickoff. Blake Barnett got the start after Avery Johnson and Jacob Knuth were scratched, leaving the Wildcats to navigate a key conference game with a shuffled depth chart and little room for error in a 27-24 overtime loss.
