Kansas State’s football uniforms are getting a new look this fall, and the Wildcats are putting a Manhattan business front and center.
When K-State opens the season against Nicholls at Bill Snyder Family Stadium next month, Purple Wave Auction’s logo will be on every football uniform as part of a new jersey patch sponsorship. The deal gives the Wildcats a local partner with a name that fits neatly into the K-State orbit.
Athletics director Gene Taylor called the partnership a strong match in a statement.
“We could not be any more pleased to team up with Purple Wave Auction on this special partnership,” K-State athletics director Gene Taylor said in a statement. “What makes it even more special is aligning with a local company and brand that share the same values and mission, and that is what we have done.”
Purple Wave Auction CEO Aaron McKee framed the agreement in football terms, leaning into the toughness of the sport and the business.
“Football is collision and grit - moving something heavy against resistance and not backing down,” said Purple Wave Auction CEO Aaron McKee. “That’s our business too.
We sell iron, we sell hard, and we don’t hide behind a reserve price. Wildcat football plays the same way, and we’re proud to be on their jersey.”
K-State did not reveal the financial terms of the deal, so the exact value remains unknown. Even so, the sponsorship adds another revenue stream for the athletic department.
The Wildcats are also stepping into a wider trend. This will be the first time Kansas State has put a sponsorship logo on its football uniforms, but it’s hardly an isolated move across the Big 12. BYU, Kansas, Oklahoma State and West Virginia have already announced jersey patch deals of their own.
Kansas State’s uniforms will feature another sponsor logo as well. The Wildcats will wear the Monster Energy Drink logo on their uniforms and display it on their football field through a conference-wide Big 12 sponsorship agreement.
Earlier this week, K-State also announced a field logo sponsorship with Progressive Insurance.

Kansas State Enters A New Era With Latest Football Uniform Change
Kansas State is moving into a new commercial era this season, adding Purple Wave Auction as the first sponsored jersey patch in program history. The local online auction companys logo will appear on the football uniforms as part of a partnership announced by the university, with Learfield brokering the deal and helping line up additional digital, social media and in-game activations.
The arrangement also opens the door to NIL opportunities for players, giving the program another layer of revenue-connected visibility as the sport keeps expanding its sponsorship footprint. Purple Wave will join a growing collection of brands tied to Kansas State football and its game-day presence, including familiar names already seen around the uniforms and stadium, a sign of how quickly the Wildcats presentation is changing as the season approaches. Avery Johnson Faces One Big Task In Kansas States New Offense
Kansas States offense is in a transition phase under new head coach Collin Klein, and Avery Johnson has already been asked to help steer it through some familiar and unfamiliar territory. With Chris Klieman gone and the Wildcats reshaping their attack, the quarterback has been talking about the work being done behind the scenes to get the passing game synced up again, especially with a receiving group that will look different when the season arrives.
Jayce Browns absence leaves a notable void, but Johnson pointed to the growth of players such as Joshua Manning and Brandon White as part of the next wave of targets the Wildcats are trying to develop. For a team trying to settle into a new offense, the challenge is not just learning the scheme, but building trust and timing with a receiver room that has to prove it can carry more of the load. Avery Johnson Wants A Different K State Start Under Collin Klein
Avery Johnson still sounds like a quarterback who remembers just how strange Kansas States 2025 opener felt in Ireland. The long trip, the different routine and the buildup to a game against Iowa State made for a demanding start to the season, and Johnson made it clear the Wildcats would welcome something more familiar when the next campaign begins.
Under new head coach Collin Klein, the priority now is a cleaner opening and a steadier approach to adversity. Johnson said the team is focused on handling those moments more professionally, and the fact that 2026 will start at home gives Kansas State a chance to settle in before the real pressure starts to build.
