Kansas and Missouri will renew one of college football’s oldest feuds on Friday, Sept. 11, when the Border War returns to Lawrence for an 8 p.m. ET kickoff at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.
The matchup is only the second one between the schools since 2011, and last year Missouri came away with a 42-31 win. Even with the long pause in the series, the rivalry never really went away. It remains one of the sport’s most recognizable matchups, and this early-season meeting gives both programs a chance to make an immediate statement.
Ticket prices are already moving accordingly. The current get-in price is $180, with 100-level seats listed at $215 and 300-level seats at $375.
Kansas enters with some momentum questions but plenty of upside. The Jayhawks just missed the postseason again, while Missouri is coming off its sixth straight bowl appearance. Still, the source of the appeal here is bigger than recent records: when Kansas gets rolling, it can be a dangerous team, and that makes this one worth circling.
For Kansas, the Missouri game sits in the middle of a schedule that opens with LIU on Friday, Sept. 4 and Arizona State on Sept. 19. The Jayhawks also have Middle Tennessee, Utah, Kansas State, Baylor, TCU, UCF, West Virginia, BYU and Oklahoma State on the slate.
Missouri’s 2026 schedule starts with Arkansas Pine Bluff on Thursday, Sept. 3, followed by the trip to Kansas a week later. The Tigers also have Troy, Mississippi State, Florida, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Texas, Georgia, Kentucky and Oklahoma remaining on the schedule.
