Kansas City Royals: Jac Caglianone's Thunderous Start
Arizona might be famous for its sunny skies, but Kansas City Royals outfielder Jac Caglianone brought a storm of his own in a recent Cactus League showdown against the Cincinnati Reds. Caglianone launched an impressive 460-foot home run at Goodyear Ballpark, leaving fans in awe.
This wasn't just any home run-it was a statement. Caglianone took a 94.8 mph fastball and sent it soaring over the right field wall with an exit velocity of 115.2 mph, according to Statcast. Talk about making an entrance!
Caglianone is set to be the Royals’ primary right fielder this season. While his defensive skills are solid, the Royals are primarily focused on his hitting consistency. Royals hitting coach Marcus Thames put it best: “He’s a game changer if we can get him in the right spots.”
The plan is for Caglianone to get plenty of high-quality at-bats during spring training and the upcoming 2026 World Baseball Classic, where he'll represent Italy. “Spring training is great because you ease into it,” Caglianone explained.
“But out there, everybody is ramped up. It’s like midseason baseball in March.”
Caglianone's journey is one to watch closely. He dominated in the minors and is eager to translate that success to the big leagues. Each game is a chance to learn and grow, and when Caglianone is on point, expect to see plenty of hard-hit balls across the field-just like his powerful display against the Reds.
