The Buffalo Bills’ shiny new home is already drawing fire, and not in the way the team hoped.
Highmark Stadium is set to debut for the 2026 NFL season, but after Saturday night’s scrimmage, fans were quick to zero in on what they see as trouble spots inside the $2.1 billion venue. The biggest gripe?
The scoreboards. The Jumbotrons at each end of the field are being described as noticeably smaller than what Bills fans are used to seeing around the NFL.
That’s not the only thing getting attention. While the stadium’s stacked seating layout gives spectators strong sightlines throughout the building, the upper deck has become a point of concern because of the steep walk down to reach the restrooms and concessions stands.

The reaction has come at a time when Buffalo is supposed to be riding plenty of optimism. The Bills enter the season with serious buzz as long as Josh Allen is playing at an MVP level, and the roster still has them among the AFC favorites.
But the debut also came with a questionable style choice. Buffalo wore its controversial gray jerseys, and those uniforms still don’t appear to be winning over many fans compared with the team’s usual blue or white looks.
None of that may matter much once the games start for real in September. The Bills have the talent to matter in the AFC, but there’s still plenty swirling around the organization. Allen recently said he still feels to blame for former head coach Sean McDermott’s firing, and new head coach Joe Brady now steps into a tough spot after being elevated from offensive coordinator.
Buffalo opens the regular season on the road against the Houston Texans. The first chance for fans to see the team at home comes Sept. 17, when the Detroit Lions visit for a “Thursday Night Football” matchup.
