Tyreek Hill may be a free agent, but he already has a team in mind if he gets back on the field.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Hill still remembers his time with the Chiefs “fondly” and could look toward Kansas City for an in-season signing. Fowler said, “Tyreek Hill remains fond of the Chiefs, and a potential in-season signing would make a lot of sense,” via Underdog NFL.
That idea carries real weight because Hill spent his first six seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs. At the right price, a reunion could be possible, and many KC fans are reportedly on board with the idea.
Hill’s path back is still a long one. He is recovering from a brutal knee dislocation that included his ACL and LCL in September 2025, and there is no clear timeline for when he’ll return. Given the injury and his age, some around the league even wondered whether his playing career might be over.
His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has said doctors want him to wait until at least October 2026 before returning. The goal is to keep him from coming back too early and to make sure he is fully healthy when he does return.
Even with all of that uncertainty, Hill has continued to show how much he thinks of the Chiefs. Before Patrick Mahomes took the field after being sidelined for nine months, Hill offered his former teammate a two-word encouragement. Mahomes, like Hill, also suffered a brutal ACL and LCL injury in 2025.
