The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was in Arizona on Wednesday for the Waste Management Phoenix Open Pro-Am, and as always, he knew how to put on a show. One of the highlights came at the tournament’s iconic par-3 16th hole-known as the “Stadium Hole”-where fans pack the stands and create an electric, almost football-like atmosphere. It’s the loudest hole in golf, and Kelce didn’t shy away from the moment.
With the crowd buzzing, Kelce stepped up and delivered a smooth iron shot that landed just feet from the pin. It wasn’t just a lucky bounce-it was a confident, well-struck swing under pressure. The gallery erupted, and Kelce, never one to miss a celebration opportunity, broke into an air guitar performance as the cheers poured in.
Golf Channel’s Eamon Lynch quipped, “I think Taylor Swift is going to write a song about that one.” And while that might’ve been a joke, Swift herself gave the moment her stamp of approval-dropping a rare Instagram “like” on a video of the shot.
Swift, who’s engaged to Kelce, doesn’t often interact with sports content on social media, so the gesture didn’t go unnoticed. But she wasn’t the only one hyped about her fiancé’s swing.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes also chimed in, tweeting, “Let’s go!!!!!” and tagging Kelce, complete with three dartboard emojis.
The internet did what it does best-spiraled into speculation. Some fans thought Mahomes was hinting at Kelce’s future with the Chiefs, possibly teasing a return in 2026.
But Mahomes quickly cleared the air, following up with a second tweet: “Talking about [golf emojis] [laughing emojis].”
So, no, this wasn’t a cryptic message about Kelce’s football plans-just a buddy hyping up a great golf shot.
Still, the question of Kelce’s NFL future remains. While he hasn’t made anything official, reports suggest that he’s leaning toward returning for one more season.
One factor believed to be influencing that decision? The return of offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, who has long been a trusted figure in Kelce’s career.
