Travis Kelce knows how to deliver - on the field and under the Christmas tree.
The Kansas City Chiefs star tight end, who’s had plenty to celebrate this year with his engagement to Taylor Swift, shared a lighthearted but telling moment on the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce. When asked about the best gift he’s ever given Swift, Travis didn’t mention jewelry, designer bags, or a luxury getaway. Instead, he went with something a little more... practical.
“A bread slicer,” Kelce said, laughing. “One of Tay’s favorite gifts that I got her.”
And it turns out, there’s a good reason for it. Swift has apparently become quite the at-home baker - specifically, a sourdough enthusiast.
“She’s been throwing together so much f***ing sourdough,” Kelce joked, clearly a fan of her kitchen creations. “Gosh, they’re the best gut healers.
I love you, Tay.”
This isn’t the first time Swift’s love for baking has come up. On a previous New Heights episode - the same one where she dropped the name and release date of her upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl - she opened up about her recent bread obsession.
And it’s not just your standard sourdough. Swift’s been experimenting with flavors, especially for Jason and Kylie Kelce’s daughters.
“There’s a blueberry lemon, a cinnamon swirl, cinnamon raisin,” Swift said. “And this one I’ve been workshopping for the girls because they love everything rainbow: Funfetti sourdough.”
Yes, you read that right. Funfetti sourdough.
“The sourdough’s taken over my life in a huge way,” she added with a laugh. “I’m really talking about bread 60 percent of the time now.”
The playful back-and-forth between Travis, Jason, and Kylie continued as the conversation shifted to relationships. When asked if he and Swift ever argue, Travis didn’t hesitate: “Me and Tay, we definitely don’t fight.” Jason and Kylie tried to tease him, but Kelce stood firm - and smiling - in his answer.
But while the podcast delivered plenty of laughs and some sweet personal moments, there’s a more emotional undertone to this week for Kelce. As the Chiefs prepare for their final regular season game of the 2025 campaign at Arrowhead Stadium, there’s a real possibility it could be Kelce’s last home game.
With Kansas City already eliminated from playoff contention, speculation about Kelce’s future has only intensified. Retirement rumors have been swirling, though nothing official has been said. Even head coach Andy Reid admitted he wasn’t sure what the future holds but didn’t hesitate to praise Kelce’s impact, calling him “phenomenal.”
If this is indeed the final chapter of Kelce’s storied career at Arrowhead, it’s fitting that it comes during the holidays - a time of reflection, gratitude, and, apparently, sourdough.
No matter what comes next, Kelce’s legacy is cemented. On the field, he’s one of the greatest tight ends to ever play the game.
Off it, he’s just a guy in love, giving bread slicers to his fiancée and talking about gut health on a podcast. And honestly, that’s about as Travis Kelce as it gets.
