Travis Kelce Eyes Hollywood, Business, and Big Decisions as NFL Career Winds Down
Travis Kelce has never been one to stick to just one lane. On the field, he’s a future Hall of Famer, a ten-time Pro Bowler who’s redefined what it means to be a modern tight end.
Off the field? He’s already laying the groundwork for a post-football life that’s looking just as dynamic - and maybe even more diverse.
Kelce recently confirmed that acting isn’t just a one-off curiosity for him - it’s a serious option. During a conversation with George Clooney on this week’s episode of the New Heights Show, the Chiefs star made it clear that Hollywood has his attention.
“Listen, as long as I’m getting asked by guys like Adam Sandler, you know, my heroes growing up,” Kelce said. “Man, I’m gonna be there in a heartbeat… I don’t know how much skill I have, but I’ll be the best teammate on set and have some fun with you if you hire me. That’s for damn sure.”
That enthusiasm isn’t just talk. Kelce’s already dipped his toes into showbiz.
He had a cameo in Happy Gilmore 2, appeared in Ryan Murphy’s Grotesquerie earlier in 2024, and even hosted Prime Video’s *Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? * - all signs that he’s building up his on-screen résumé while still suiting up on Sundays.
And if you ask Adam Sandler, Kelce’s got more than just charisma - he’s got the work ethic to back it up. According to Sandler, Kelce showed up to set the day after a Chiefs game, bruised but ready to go. That kind of commitment isn’t lost on anyone in Hollywood, and it’s part of why Sandler believes Kelce could thrive as an entertainer.
But acting is just one piece of the puzzle. Kelce’s business portfolio is quietly becoming one of the more impressive among active NFL players.
In October 2025, he teamed up with Jana Partners to invest $200 million in Six Flags Entertainment, securing a 9% stake in the company. That’s not just athlete-branding - that’s serious boardroom presence.
He’s also teamed up with longtime teammate and quarterback Patrick Mahomes to open 1587 Prime, a Kansas City steakhouse that’s quickly become a local hotspot. And the list of investments doesn’t stop there. Kelce has stakes in Hilo Nutrition, Club Car Wash, Cholula Hot Sauce, Tru Kolors clothing, and even a line of barbecue products sold through Walmart.
Then there’s the podcast. Alongside his brother Jason, Travis co-hosts New Heights, which landed a massive three-year, $100 million deal with Amazon’s Wondery. It’s become one of the most popular sports podcasts in the country, offering fans a unique look into life in and around the NFL from two of the league’s most charismatic voices.
Still, for all the off-field ventures, there’s one big question hanging over Kelce’s future: Will he be back on the field in 2026?
Before Kansas City’s 23-20 overtime win against the Colts on November 23, Kelce addressed retirement rumors head-on. He said he plans to make a decision before the offseason kicks into gear.
“I think, you know, seeing my brother go through it and seeing how the league works, you know, this season kind of restarts in April,” Kelce said. “I want to give the Chiefs a good opportunity, whether I come back or not, vice versa, like whether they want me back or not.”
That kind of transparency speaks volumes about Kelce’s leadership and awareness. He’s not just thinking about himself - he’s thinking about the team’s future.
Whether it’s draft plans or free agency, he wants the Chiefs to have clarity heading into the offseason. No drama, no distractions.
If he does return, Kelce would be 37 years old - currently the second-oldest tight end in the league. But even at this stage in his career, he’s still producing at a high level, still drawing double teams, and still making plays in crunch time.
So while the curtain may be slowly beginning to close on Kelce’s NFL chapter, it’s clear he’s not fading into the background. Whether it’s in front of a camera, behind a microphone, or in the boardroom, Travis Kelce is setting himself up for a second act that could be just as impactful as his first.
