The Seattle Seahawks are gearing up for another Super Bowl run after their spectacular 2025 season, but they face some hurdles with key players leaving in free agency. The most significant of these departures is Kenneth Walker III, the Super Bowl MVP, who has joined the Kansas City Chiefs. This leaves the Seahawks searching for a new lead running back, and the options are slim.
Enter NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah, who, in his latest mock draft, sees the Seahawks addressing this need with the 32nd pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. He predicts they will select Jadarian Price, an 11-touchdown running back from Notre Dame, not the more widely discussed Jeremiyah Love.
Jeremiah notes, "There's a steep drop at the running back position this year after Price. He would fit right into Seattle's plans with Walker gone and Zach Charbonnet recovering from an ACL injury."
The Seahawks' offense is in transition, especially in the backfield. Walker's move to the Chiefs and Charbonnet's injury late last season have left them in need of immediate support at running back. Despite not making significant moves in free agency, Seattle's strategy might involve a bold first-round pick.
Selecting a running back like Price in the first round is a daring move, particularly since he was the backup to another first-round talent, Love. However, Price's performance as part of a platoon at Notre Dame speaks volumes. In 2025, he carried the ball 113 times for 774 yards and 11 touchdowns, while also catching six passes for 87 yards and two more scores.
Though Price might not have the same hype as Love, his talent makes him a worthy first-round consideration. With a strong roster already in place, Seattle is in a unique position to take a chance on a player like Price, potentially filling the void left by Walker and setting the stage for another championship push.
