Russell Wilson Just Pushed The Chiefs Toward A Bold Deadline Question

As the trade deadline looms, former QB Russell Wilson pitches a game-changing strategy for the Chiefs, eyeing Jets' receiver Garrett Wilson to boost their championship aspirations.

With the November 10 trade deadline drawing closer, the conversation around the league is shifting from maybe to maybe-now. The Chiefs sit back on top of the NFL, and that kind of position tends to invite speculation about whether they’ll swing big to sharpen their Super Bowl push. Russell Wilson thinks the answer should be Garrett Wilson.

Speaking on “NFL on CBS” with Kyle Long, the former quarterback made the case that Kansas City should go after the Jets wideout and treat it like an all-in move for Patrick Mahomes. Wilson laid out the fit in detail, pointing to the Chiefs’ ground game and Mahomes’ deep-ball ability as the ingredients that would make the trade work.

“I'm just telling you, if I'm the Kansas City Chiefs, I got the All-Star running back in the backfield in Kenneth Walker, which we've never had before,” Wilson began… “And guess what that does? That play action opens up, right? What Mahomes does arguably better than anybody in the world is throw the ball down the field.

“So, if I'm thinking about this, who would I go get? I'm gonna go get Garrett Wilson,” the ex-quarterback proclaimed. “If the Jets keep losing, I'm gonna go get Garrett Wilson from the New York Football Jets because I believe that Garrett Wilson, down the field, with his ability- he's a smart guy; he learns quickly- he'd be great in the Andy Reid style of offense… [The Chiefs] haven't had a receiver like him.”

Garrett Wilson has already been productive in his own right this season. The five-year veteran signed a four-year, $130 million extension with the Jets in the 2025 offseason, and through six games he has 35 catches for 418 yards and three touchdowns.

New York is 2-4 heading into Week 7, while Kansas City is undefeated at 5-0. That record puts the Chiefs in position to be buyers if they choose to act, and the next few weeks will help shape how the trade deadline unfolds in early November.

Andy Reids Chiefs Run Is Chasing Another Rare NFL Standard

The Chiefs 5-0 start has already put Andy Reid in familiar territory, even by the standards of a coaching career that keeps stretching into rare company. It is the sixth time Reid has guided a team to an undefeated mark through five games, a reminder that sustained fast starts have become one of the defining traits of his run in Kansas City and beyond.

Reids place in the leagues historical conversation only keeps growing as the wins pile up. He already sits near the top of the NFL record book in both regular-season and playoff victories, and the latest Chiefs surge adds another layer to a rsum that keeps brushing against standards set by some of the sports most iconic names. Travis Kelce Just Added Another Chapter To Chiefs History

Travis Kelce keeps stacking milestones in a Chiefs uniform, and the latest one only adds to the strange sense that his place in franchise history is still being written in real time. Already the clubs record holder for receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns, Kelce remains a central part of Kansas Citys offense this season while continuing to reshape the teams passing-game legacy.

Kelce reached 1,100 career regular-season receptions during the Chiefs victory over the Chargers, another reminder of how long he has been at the heart of this run. For Kansas City, it is the kind of accomplishment that lands somewhere between routine and remarkable: another Sunday, another chapter for a player whose rsum already looks unlike anyone elses in team history. Mahomes Just Added Another Tom Brady Comparison For Chiefs Fans

Patrick Mahomes keeps stacking up milestones at a pace that is starting to feel routine for Kansas City fans, and the latest one came in the Chiefs 22-6 win over the Chargers. Mahomes completed 23 of 30 passes for 272 yards and one interception, helping push the Chiefs to 5-0 while adding yet another reminder of how quickly his career has moved into historic territory.

The latest benchmark also brings Brady into the picture again, because Mahomes reached 100 NFL wins in the fewest starts ever recorded among quarterbacks. For a Chiefs team that is unbeaten and headed next to Seattle, the accomplishment is another sign that the standard in Kansas City is being measured not just by wins, but by how often Mahomes keeps finding himself in company reserved for the very best.
