The New England Patriots had an impressive 2025 season, making it all the way to the Super Bowl. However, they fell just short of clinching the title, leaving them with some key areas to address as they aim for the championship.
Mike Vrabel and his front office are now tasked with taking the team to the next level. Two major areas needing improvement are the offensive line and the receiving corps. Aside from Stefon Diggs, quarterback Drake Maye didn't have many reliable targets.
Enter the buzz around Philadelphia Eagles star A.J. Brown potentially joining the Patriots.
With Vrabel attending the scouting combine in Indianapolis, he was naturally asked about the possibility of trading for Brown. As expected, he kept his cards close to the chest.
"I think that we'll look at everything that we can possibly look at to add to our roster," Vrabel mentioned. "There's a lot that goes into trades-back and forth negotiations and compensation considerations. We're sure to have numerous opportunities to discuss trades, not only this week but as we approach the draft."
Could the Patriots realistically land Brown? Absolutely.
Vrabel's previous connection with Brown from their time in Tennessee could play a pivotal role in making this happen. The main hurdle would be the asking price, as the Eagles are likely to drive a hard bargain for their top receiver.
Acquiring a talent like Brown would be a game-changer for Maye and the Patriots' offense, but it would require significant investment. Yet, pursuing a Super Bowl often demands bold moves, and bringing Brown on board could put the Patriots right back in the championship conversation.
