Patrick Mahomes is set to be back under center for the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night, and the buildup has already turned personal. Brittany Mahomes made sure her husband heard the support loud and clear as he prepared for his season opener, his first game since the knee injury that ended his 2025 season.
Mahomes last played on December 14, 2025, when he tore his ACL and LCL in a divisional game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Nine months later, he’s back on the field with the Chiefs, and he marked the moment on Sunday evening by posting an Instagram video montage of some of his favorite NFL memories.

Brittany Mahomes jumped into the comments to celebrate the return.
"YES YES YESSSSSSSSS🔥💯🗣️," Brittany commented.
She kept the celebration going by resharing the post to her Instagram Story and adding her own message.
"I'm so ready for this!" Brittany Mahomes wrote on her Instagram Story.
The Players' Tribune also joined in, posting a video montage of Mahomes’ return to the Chiefs and including clips from Brittany and Patrick’s three children, Sterling, Bronze and Golden. Mahomes reposted that on X and added three heart emojis.

The Chiefs’ 2025 season had already unraveled by the time Mahomes went down. He went 6-8 in 14 starts, and Kansas City finished 6-11, missing the playoffs for the first time in his career.
The return comes a little over a week after Patrick Mahomes marked Brittany’s birthday with an Instagram tribute on August 31, 2026. He shared a carousel of photos featuring moments from their life together, along with pictures of the couple with their three children, and kept the caption simple.
"Happy Birthday! ❤️ Love you Forever ❤️," Patrick Mahomes said.
Patrick and Brittany Mahomes have been together since high school, stayed together through their college years, got engaged in September 2020 and were married in March 2022.
