The former MLB pitcher, who’s largely stayed out of the spotlight compared to other members of the Mahomes family, now finds himself back in the headlines with another legal issue-his latest in a string of alcohol-related offenses.
According to reports, Mahomes Sr. was booked into Smith County Jail just before 9 a.m. local time. No court date has been set at this time. The arrest stems from a violation of the terms of his probation, which he received following a DUI conviction in 2024.
That 2024 arrest came just days before Super Bowl 58-a game the Chiefs would go on to win. Mahomes Sr. later pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years of probation, with the first year requiring what was described as “intense supervision.” It was his third DUI-related offense, underscoring a legal history that’s been building for over a decade.
