Maxx Crosby and Patrick Mahomes have built one of the NFL’s nastiest one-on-one matchups, and Crosby just added a bizarre new detail to the list.
On an episode of Crosby’s podcast, The Rush, the Raiders edge rusher was asked by co-host Brogan Roback whether Mahomes makes noise when he gets taken down. Crosby didn’t exactly hesitate.
“I don’t know,” Crosby said before mimicking a heavy grunt that came off like a moan.
Roback tried to pump the brakes immediately.
“Don’t say moan, just don’t say that word,” Roback advised with a laugh.
Crosby wasn’t backing off.
“There’s no other word! But yeah,” Crosby replied cheerfully.
That wasn’t the only part of the exchange Crosby was willing to share. He also described the way Mahomes reacts after the whistle, saying the Chiefs quarterback tends to roll over and look back at him. Crosby said he answers by standing over Mahomes and staring right back.
“It started early. We were very close to each other, physically, out of the gate.
Got some good hits on him. It’s just funny, every time I hit him, he rolls over, and he peeks at me, just to see.
And I’m always in his face, just staring at him,” Crosby said.
The two have been going at it twice a year since Crosby entered the league with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2019, and their most memorable collision came in a Monday Night Football game in 2022. Crosby spent the first half making life miserable for Mahomes, with extra shoves, arm punches and late hits after the ball was gone.
At one point, Mahomes snapped back on the field: “Don’t just punch me for no reason, dawg,”
Later, after throwing a touchdown pass, Mahomes went after Crosby again in a heated sideline exchange and fired back with: “You woke up the wrong motherf-er,”
Crosby has had plenty of success in the matchup, piling up 6.5 sacks and 49 quarterback pressures against Mahomes in his career.

Brittany Mahomes Added More Postgame Buzz To Chiefs' Undefeated Start
The Chiefs kept their unbeaten start rolling with a 30-27 win over the Raiders, and the usual postgame chatter came with an extra layer of intrigue. Patrick Mahomes threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns, while Kenneth Walker powered the ground game with 177 rushing yards and two scores, helping Kansas City move to 4-0 in a tight AFC West race.
Las Vegas had its own reasons to believe after falling to 3-1, even if coach Klint Kubiak said the offense still needs to sharpen up. Patrick Mahomes also made a point of crediting the Raiders' defense afterward, which only added to the buzz around a game that already had plenty of edge, and Brittany Mahomes helped keep the conversation going after the final whistle. Chiefs Suddenly Have A Trade Question Fans Werent Expecting
The trade market around the NFL is already starting to take shape, and one of the more interesting ripple effects for Kansas City comes from Detroits defensive problems. ESPNs Jeremy Fowler pointed to the Lions as a team that may need to upgrade its secondary, a sign that the market for cornerbacks and other defensive help could heat up quickly as the deadline approaches.
Kristian Fulton is one name Fowler floated, with Jalen Ramsey also mentioned as a possibility, and the urgency is obvious given that Detroit has been the leagues worst defense this season. The Lions are allowing 423.8 yards per game, but whether they actually pull the trigger on a deal before the deadline remains unclear, which is exactly the kind of uncertainty that can reshape who is available for teams watching the market closely. Patrick Mahomes Sr. Just Got A Chiefs Season Ruling
Patrick Mahomes Sr. will be allowed some room to keep up with his sons team this season, even as his legal situation remains under close supervision in Texas. The elder Mahomes pleaded guilty to a felony DWI charge and was sentenced to five years of probation with strict conditions, setting off a case that has kept his travel closely controlled while the court monitors compliance.
The latest wrinkle came after a disputed alcohol reading from his SCRAM ankle monitor on Jan. 1, 2026, but later testing found no alcohol use and the state backed away from trying to revoke probation. A Texas judge then extended his probation by two years while approving limited out-of-state trips so he can attend certain Chiefs games, though those visits will come with strict monitoring rules.
