Jayden Daniels Had The Perfect Reaction To Patrick Mahomes Dominating

Jayden Daniels was left in awe as Patrick Mahomes turned improvisation into artistry against the Commanders, showcasing yet another reason why he's a master on the field.

Jayden Daniels didn’t hide his reaction the first time he got a front-row look at Patrick Mahomes doing Patrick Mahomes things.

During the Washington Commanders’ late-October trip to Kansas City last year, the game was still hanging in the balance after a first half that ended tied 7-7. Washington had entered the matchup trying to get back to .500 after losses to the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys, and for a while, it looked like they might keep things tight.

Then the Chiefs took over.

Kansas City blanked the Commanders in the second half, and Mahomes carved them up with three touchdown passes - one each to Kareem Hunt, Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice. Hunt had already piled up six rushing touchdowns in the first quarter, and the Commanders were left chasing a game that had slipped away fast.

On Season 3 of Netflix’s “Quarterback,” Daniels is heard watching the unraveling from the sideline and sounding like a fan who can’t quite believe what he’s seeing.

"How do you find that? He just made up some s***!"

Daniels later put the admiration into words in an interview segment.

"I appreciate great QB play. It's an art. Patrick Mahomes is good at football."

The episode also gives a look at Daniels’ unusual setup off the field. He doesn’t have a traditional agent; instead, he’s represented by his mother, Regina Jackson.

Daniels explained what that means to him in the same episode:

“Role number one, she plays my mom. From there, she’s my business manager, and then also she is a certified NFL agent.

I’ve seen her be a manager at a lot of different companies and manage money. So what better person to help you manage your money, and that’s somebody you can trust, than your mom.”

His publicist, Denise White, also appears in the episode and talks about Jackson becoming a certified NFLPA agent.

“For her, taking the agent’s test is because she wants to be knowledgeable and helping her son and guiding him through his NFL career. It’s important for her to have all that knowledge so she can give her son guidance, which will help him focus on the field, and she can help him focus off the field.”

All eight episodes of “Quarterback” are available on Netflix. The series also features Joe Burrow, Joe Flacco and Cam Ward.

Chiefs Linked To Receiver Rumor With Serious Off Field Baggage

The Chiefs are being mentioned in the Stefon Diggs conversation at a time when Kansas City is still sorting out its receiver room before training camp. Diggs is coming off a productive first season with New England and is looking for a new contract, which naturally has kept his name in circulation as teams around the league weigh whether he can still be a difference-maker on the field.

Interest in Diggs is not hard to understand, but the off-field picture is where any pursuit gets complicated. He is facing multiple civil lawsuits tied to incidents from 2023 and 2024, and while several teams have reportedly checked in on him, Kansas City is one of the clubs that could be monitoring the situation closely as it considers whether the talent outweighs the baggage. Chiefs May Finally Have A Rare Chance To Change Mahomes Debate

Patrick Mahomes recovery has naturally put Kansas Citys offense under a brighter spotlight, and it has also reopened a familiar conversation about whether the Chiefs need another true difference-maker at receiver. With the passing game still built around Mahomes timing and improvisation, the idea of adding a top-tier pass catcher is the kind of move that can change how defenses have to play them, not just for one stretch but over the long haul.

Garrett Wilson has emerged as the name to watch because of the uncertainty surrounding the Jets, who may be staring at a quarterback situation that does not have a clear long-term answer yet. If New York ever decides to listen, Kansas City would be among the teams with both the motivation and the structure to make a serious push, and the fit is obvious enough that it already feels like one of those rare chances the Chiefs do not often get.
