Tyreek Hill’s next move could come fast, and the Chiefs are right in the middle of it.
Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN that the free-agent receiver may sign with a team in the next few days while he weighs interest from multiple contenders. Kansas City is one of the teams in the mix, and the Chiefs have already reached out about the possibility of bringing Hill back.
“I would anticipate Tyreek potentially signing with a team over the next few days,” Rosenhaus said.
That kind of timeline could keep Kansas City from waiting long for an answer. The Chiefs are fresh off a 30-27 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, a game that came with a costly hit to the receiver room.
Tyquan Thornton suffered a dislocated left ankle and is expected to miss 12 to 16 weeks, according to NFL Network, though there is still hope he could return late in the regular season or in the playoffs. Rashee Rice also left Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury, but the news around Rice has been more encouraging, with the injury believed to be relatively minor and Kansas City’s bye offering a chance for him to return without missing a game.
Hill’s own situation is its own long road back. The 32-year-old is working to return from the knee injury that ended his 2025 season.
He suffered a dislocated left kneecap and tore multiple ligaments, including his ACL, while playing for the Miami Dolphins last September. Miami released him in the offseason, and Hill has been aiming to get back on the field in November.
He has recently posted training video and has hinted on social media that his comeback is drawing closer.
Any reunion would send Hill back to the franchise where he became a star. Over six seasons in Kansas City, he made the Pro Bowl every year and helped the Chiefs win Super Bowl LIV before being traded to Miami in 2022.
And there’s at least some appetite for that reunion inside the locker room. Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Chris Jones were among the Chiefs players who told The Athletic’s Michael Silver they would welcome Hill back.
Rosenhaus also made one thing clear about the kind of team Hill is willing to join.
“He's only going to play for a team that he feels can win the Super Bowl,” Rosenhaus said.
For the Chiefs, that fits the bill. Kansas City is 4-0 entering its Week 5 bye and is the AFC’s only unbeaten team. Now the only real question is whether Hill’s decision arrives soon enough to make a reunion happen.

Maxx Crosby Just Took The Mahomes Rivalry Somewhere Personal
Maxx Crosby has never been shy about the edge that comes with facing Patrick Mahomes, and his latest comments on The Rush add another layer to one of the AFC Wests most familiar feuds. The Raiders pass rusher talked about the in-game back-and-forth with Kansas Citys quarterback, describing the kind of physical, play-to-play friction that has made every meeting feel a little bigger than the box score.
Crosby said Mahomes reacts in ways most fans never hear or see, and he pointed to the way the quarterback has responded after hits as part of their ongoing rivalry. For Kansas City, it is simply the latest reminder that Mahomes remains the standard every opponent circles, while Crosby keeps finding ways to be a problem whenever these teams line up across from each other. Brittany Mahomes Added More Postgame Buzz To Chiefs' Undefeated Start
The Chiefs kept their unbeaten start rolling with a 30-27 win over the Raiders, and the usual postgame chatter came with an extra layer of intrigue. Patrick Mahomes threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns, while Kenneth Walker powered the ground game with 177 rushing yards and two scores, helping Kansas City move to 4-0 in a tight AFC West race.
Las Vegas had its own reasons to believe after falling to 3-1, even if coach Klint Kubiak said the offense still needs to sharpen up. Patrick Mahomes also made a point of crediting the Raiders' defense afterward, which only added to the buzz around a game that already had plenty of edge, and Brittany Mahomes helped keep the conversation going after the final whistle. Chiefs Suddenly Have A Trade Question Fans Werent Expecting
The trade market around the NFL is already starting to take shape, and one of the more interesting ripple effects for Kansas City comes from Detroits defensive problems. ESPNs Jeremy Fowler pointed to the Lions as a team that may need to upgrade its secondary, a sign that the market for cornerbacks and other defensive help could heat up quickly as the deadline approaches.
Kristian Fulton is one name Fowler floated, with Jalen Ramsey also mentioned as a possibility, and the urgency is obvious given that Detroit has been the leagues worst defense this season. The Lions are allowing 423.8 yards per game, but whether they actually pull the trigger on a deal before the deadline remains unclear, which is exactly the kind of uncertainty that can reshape who is available for teams watching the market closely.
