The Chicago Bears have spent the 2026 offseason plugging holes, but one of the biggest ones on the roster still hasn’t been filled: edge rusher.
They’ve added help at safety with Coby Bryant and Dillon Thieneman, and Devin Bush is now part of the linebacker group. Even so, the defensive line still looks like a spot that needs attention. The problem is simple enough - the Bears don’t have the kind of resources needed to chase a splashy trade.
That’s why Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton is floating a much cheaper option: Kansas City Chiefs edge rusher Felix Anudike-Uzomah.
“Chicago Bears: Trade a late 2027 pick for Kansas City Chiefs DE Felix Anudike-Uzomah,” Moton writes.
On paper, it’s the kind of move that fits Chicago’s situation. Anudike-Uzomah would give the Bears another body on the edge without requiring the kind of premium price a star like Maxx Crosby would demand. And because his production has been so limited, the price should stay manageable.
He missed the entire 2025 season, and across the two seasons before that he appeared in all 17 games but started only three. In that span, he posted 3.0 sacks, eight tackles for loss and 41 tackles.
The pressure numbers are even more telling. In two seasons with Kansas City, he has just 19 total pressures.
For a first-round edge rusher, that’s a rough return. For Chicago, though, that underwhelming production is part of the appeal.
Anudike-Uzomah is still only 24, and he’s a Super Bowl champion. He’s also entering the final year of his rookie deal, with free agency coming after the 2026 season. Kansas City doesn’t appear to need him, while the Bears could use him.
Moton suggests the asking price wouldn’t climb much beyond a late draft pick, and even if it did, it likely wouldn’t go higher than a sixth-rounder.
For a team that needs help on the edge but has limited financial flexibility, taking a flier on the 31st pick in the 2023 NFL Draft could be the kind of low-cost gamble that makes sense for Chicago.

Travis Kelce Just Got A Harsh Reality Check From Around The NFL
Travis Kelces place in the league hierarchy took a noticeable hit this offseason, even as he remains one of the most recognizable names in football. After signing a one-year deal with the Chiefs worth $12 million and with incentives that can push it to $15 million, Kelce found himself sliding in the NFL Top 100, a reminder that reputation and production do not always travel together in the same direction.
The drop comes after a season in which he still put up 76 catches for 851 yards and five touchdowns, but the broader context around Kansas City made the evaluation sting more. The Chiefs stumbled to a 6-11 finish and missed the playoffs, and now Kelce is carrying both the weight of that team-wide disappointment and the reality that his peers are viewing him differently than they did a year ago.
