Disney and the NFL have rolled out a new merchandise collaboration for every team in the league, and the Chiefs landed on a character that fits them a little too neatly: the Big Bad Wolf from Three Little Pigs.
The collection is called the Disney x Champion NFL Collection, and it’s now available online at Disney’s official store and NFL Shop. For Kansas City, the assignment comes with an easy visual hook. The team’s mascot is KC Wolf, and he’s been the official mascot since 1989.
That alone makes the pairing feel natural. But the match goes deeper than the mascot.
The Big Bad Wolf is supposed to be the looming threat, the one everybody remembers, and that lines up with how the Chiefs are viewed by plenty of non-Chiefs fans after years of winning. Since the calendar turned to the 2020s, the team has piled up success, and with that success has come plenty of dislike.
There’s also a stranger bit of wolf history tied to the franchise: ChiefsAholic, the notorious mega-fan who wore a wolf mask to games and later became a national story after authorities found that he had been robbing banks. He was eventually caught and sentenced to 32 years in prison, and the saga later became the subject of a documentary on Amazon Prime.
Put it all together, and the Big Bad Wolf feels like a pretty clean fit for Kansas City. The mascot connection is obvious, the villain angle tracks with the team’s public image, and the result is one of the more natural pairings in the entire collection. It may not be the flashiest matchup in the set, but for the Chiefs, it works.
