The Chiefs are heading into Sunday with more than just a chance to snap out of their recent slide. They also get a live scouting trip against a Jets team that looks very much like a club willing to deal again before the November 10 trade deadline.
Kansas City has dropped back-to-back games against Seattle and Denver, while New York has lost three straight and sits at 2-6. With the Jets already in rebuild mode after last year’s deadline moves involving Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams, this matchup could double as an audition for a handful of players who might be wearing different colors soon enough.
Garrett Wilson is the biggest name in the group, and the one that will draw the most attention. The Jets extended him in 2025, but that didn’t stop them from moving Sauce Gardner to the Colts at last year’s deadline.
Wilson is under contract through 2030 and has already put together 1,000-yard seasons in each of his first three years. For Kansas City, the obstacle would be the asking price.
If New York wants more than a first-round pick, the Chiefs would be smart to walk away.
Adonai Mitchell is another receiver worth watching. He’s already been traded once, landing with the Jets in the Sauce Gardner deal while still in the second year of his rookie contract.
Mitchell has shown real talent, but consistency has been the issue, with drops continuing to follow him. Even so, his size and athleticism could make him attractive to Brett Veach if Kansas City wants an outside target.
The Chiefs’ offensive tackle situation makes Chukwuma Okorafor a name to keep in mind, too. Kansas City has a clear need there, and a veteran lineman could be tempting.
The concern is the baggage: Okorafor has dealt with a lot of “drama” at previous stops. That makes him a risky fit, though a low-cost deal could still make sense if the Chiefs believe he’s headed in the right direction.
On the defensive side, Kingsley Enagbare fits the kind of profile Steve Spagnuolo tends to like. The Chiefs have already invested heavily at defensive end, but Enagbare could still be useful if the price is right.
He’s been a steady presence with both the Packers and Jets, is on a one-year deal, and could be available cheaply. He also could be in line for an extension after the season.
Kansas City’s most obvious need may be at safety, which puts Dane Belton squarely on the radar. Belton piled up 120 total tackles with the Giants last year and already has 68 for the Jets this season. He’s on a one-year deal with no major cap hit, and his style lines up with what the Chiefs like on defense: a safety who can play in the box and bring it in the run game.
Malachi Moore gives the Chiefs another possible option on the back end. The Jets’ 2025 fourth-round pick finished second on the team in tackles as a rookie with 101 last season, but he has had trouble locking down a consistent role in 2026.
Like Belton, Moore would fit Kansas City’s defense because of his box work and ability to tackle in space. He also comes with longer-term appeal, since he still has two years left on his rookie deal after the 2026 season.

Travis Kelce Takes Blame As Chiefs Sloppiness Starts Raising Concerns
Travis Kelce was back on the field against Denver despite the injury concerns that had followed him into the week, and he still managed to give the Chiefs a steady presence in the passing game with five catches for 67 yards. But the larger story out of the 28-24 loss was the sloppiness that kept showing up at the worst possible moments, a problem that has started to feel bigger than one bad night.
Kelce did not hide from his part in it, acknowledging mistakes and sounding frustrated with how he has played recently. For a Chiefs offense that has too often lived on precision in tight games, the margin for error keeps shrinking, and the latest setback only adds to the pressure to clean things up before the next chance slips away. Chiefs Let A Frustrating Broncos Loss Expose A Bigger Problem
A frustrating afternoon in Denver ended with the Chiefs on the wrong side of a 28-24 loss, and the final sequence only added to the irritation. Patrick Mahomes still put up 321 yards and three touchdowns, but Kansas City could not finish when it mattered most, including a key goal-line chance that came up empty late.
The bigger concern was how the offense let a winnable game slip away after a crucial penalty derailed a fourth-down attempt and the final drive never produced the decisive answer. Even the postgame reaction spilled beyond the field, with Brittany Mahomes taking to social media to criticize the referees call, a sign of how sharply the loss landed around the team. [Read more 🡒]
Chiefs Fans Have Every Reason To Be Furious Over This Flag
The late-game sequence in Denver left Chiefs fans with plenty to argue about, because Kansas City seemed to have the winning touchdown in hand on a fourth-and-goal snap before the flag changed everything. What had looked like the defining play of the night instead turned into a stoppage that flipped the pressure right back onto the offense, and the debate over the call quickly spread beyond the stadium.
The reaction was immediate, with fans and commentators questioning whether the movement on the line really justified the penalty. Former Fox Sports host Skip Bayless weighed in, and even Brittany Mahomes joined the chorus of voices wondering about the decision, underscoring how a single judgment call can dominate the conversation long after the game is over.
