The Kansas City Chiefs are making waves by bringing back former offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, reuniting him with the team after a stint with Matt Nagy. Adding to the excitement, they've secured reigning Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III, a surprise release from the Seattle Seahawks.
With Travis Kelce committed for another season, the Chiefs seem to be embracing a bit of nostalgia. But their quest isn't over-they're still on the hunt for a wide receiver. The Athletic's Saad Yousuf suggests that a reunion with Tyreek Hill could be on the cards:
"With Kelce back, why not reunite the old crew and see if they can recapture some magic? Hill knows the environment well, which could aid his recovery from last year’s tough injury. It’s a low-risk move for the Chiefs," Yousuf noted.
Rashee Rice shows promise but may face another suspension due to league policy violations. Xavier Worthy is also in the mix, though he hasn't made a significant impact yet:
"Rice and Worthy are on the depth chart, and they might add more talent through the draft. Bringing Hill back could be a win-win for Kansas City," he added.
The Chiefs have their own star recovering from a major injury, which might make them cautious about Hill and his ACL. Plus, Hill brings some off-field baggage.
Yet, his chemistry with Mahomes was electric, and he's no stranger to Andy Reid’s intricate offensive strategies and Bieniemy's demanding coaching style.
Hill might not have the same explosive speed that once terrorized defenses, but he could still be a valuable addition. As a fan favorite and a player who’s earned his stripes, his return could be a strategic boost for the Chiefs.
