Cardinals Make Broadcast Announcement With Surprise Twist

Fans will have unprecedented access to the Cardinals 2026 spring training, with nearly every game streamed or broadcast across multiple platforms and voices.

Cardinals Unveil 2026 Spring Training Broadcast Schedule: 29 Games Available Across TV, Radio & Streaming Platforms

Spring is right around the corner, and that means one thing for Cardinals fans: baseball is back. The team has officially rolled out its 2026 Spring Training broadcast schedule, and whether you're tuning in from St.

Louis or streaming from across the country, there’s no shortage of ways to catch the action. A total of 29 out of 30 spring games will be available across a mix of TV, radio, and digital platforms - and yes, many of them are free to access.

Streaming & TV Coverage: Cardinals.TV Steps Up

Cardinals.TV and MLB.TV will stream 16 Spring Training games this year, kicking off on Monday, February 23, when the Cardinals host the Miami Marlins at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. First pitch is at 12:05 PM CT, with coverage beginning at noon.

Even better? All 16 streamed games will be free for fans with a valid MLB.com account - no subscription required.

You can watch via the MLB app or directly through cardinals.com.

Eight of those 16 streamed games will also get the local TV treatment, simulcast on Matrix Midwest - available over-the-air on channel 32 and on channel 6 for Spectrum/Charter customers. That means fans in the region can catch the action on their TVs without needing a cable package or streaming device.

The broadcast booth will feature familiar voices: Chip Caray returns on play-by-play, with Brad Thompson and Stefan Caray providing in-game analysis. There’s also a new face joining the mix - St.

Louis native Dani Wexelman will debut as a host and reporter for two spring broadcasts. She’ll share regular-season reporting duties with Jim Hayes, who’s entering his 25th season covering Cardinals baseball and will be back on Opening Day.

One of the highlights of the spring slate is the Spring Breakout Game on March 19 at 4:30 PM CT. This matchup against the Nationals will feature the Cardinals’ top minor league prospects and will also stream for free on Cardinals.TV and all MLB digital platforms.

Radio Coverage: KMOX & Cardinals Radio Network Deliver 18 Games

On the radio side, KMOX 104.1 FM/1120 AM - the team’s flagship station - will broadcast 18 spring games. That includes the Grapefruit League opener against the Nationals on Saturday, February 21.

The radio crew brings a strong lineup of its own, with John Rooney, Ricky Horton, Mike Claiborne, and Matt Pauley calling the action. These broadcasts will also be available across the 168-station Cardinals Radio Network, so fans far beyond Missouri can tune in.

Local listings will provide specifics for each region.

Spanish-language broadcasts are also part of the plan, with Polo Ascencio and Bengie Molina calling the opener and the February 22 game against Houston on WIJR 880 AM and the Cardinals’ Spanish Radio Network. Nine additional games will be streamed with a rotating cast of broadcasters including Claiborne, Pauley, and Tom Ackerman, available via cardinals.com and the MLB app.

A Spring Full of Storylines

Beyond the broadcast logistics, this spring offers a few intriguing wrinkles. The Cardinals will play 28 Grapefruit League games, plus two exhibition matchups - one against Team Nicaragua at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium, and another against their Double-A affiliate Springfield Cardinals at Hammons Field.

The mix of major league veterans, top prospects, and international competition gives fans plenty to watch for. Whether you're keeping tabs on roster battles, scouting the next wave of talent, or just soaking in the sunshine and baseball vibes, this spring training slate has something for everyone.
