Instead, she went straight to the fans.
After the Chiefs moved to 3-0, Brittany posted to her Instagram Story and praised the traveling crowd with a message that read, “Man do I love seeing #ChiefsKingdom show up always!” It was a pointedly different response from the wave of backlash surrounding the flags, especially the roughing-the-passer call on Dolphins pass rusher Chop Robinson in the third quarter.
That penalty drew the loudest reaction. Robinson had just brought Patrick Mahomes to the ground and seemed to brace his fall while avoiding contact with Mahomes’ head, but officials still threw the flag. Former NFL cornerback Richard Sherman pushed back on X, saying he wasn’t sure what a defender could do differently, “other than not trying to make the play.”
Brittany’s post never addressed the call directly. She kept the focus on support for Kansas City, and she did it again on her main Instagram feed with a field-side photo of Patrick and their kids.

The social media move fit a familiar pattern for Brittany Mahomes. Earlier this month, she mocked an ESPN panel that picked Denver over Kansas City by posting a screenshot of the incorrect predictions with a one-word caption. That came after Patrick’s first game back from his ACL injury.
The timing of Sunday’s post was notable, too. Just two days earlier, Brittany had apologized for her own sideline reaction after the Chiefs needed overtime to beat the Colts. She admitted she had been screaming and cursing through the whole finish.
This time, the on-field drama was lighter. Mahomes finished 20 of 24 for 246 yards and two touchdowns, including an 11-yard touchdown to Travis Kelce that sealed it. Kansas City’s defense forced two turnovers, and Miami’s offense was held under 14 points for a third straight week.
Still, the disputed roughing call kept Mahomes and the Chiefs in the middle of the officiating conversation. Sherman’s criticism was the clearest public pushback, and it’s not yet clear whether the league will address the calls this week.
