Travis Kelce’s offseason has been anything but quiet, but Andy Reid says the Chiefs tight end has returned looking just like himself.
Speaking to NFL Network, the Kansas City coach was asked about Kelce after a stretch that included his July marriage to Taylor Swift. Reid’s answer was simple: the long summer hasn’t dulled Kelce’s edge.
“He came back in good shape. I know everybody's out there saying he's got the dad body and all this stuff, but he looks the same to me that he's always looked and [he's] playing like crazy,” Reid praised with a laugh. “He's focused in and ready to go, and I appreciate that.”
Kelce is back for his 14th training camp with Kansas City, the only NFL team he has played for, and he’s set for at least one more season in red and gold.
His offseason was packed. Kelce and Swift were married on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Madison Square Garden, with Reid and Patrick Mahomes among the guests. The ceremony also drew other celebrities, including Paul McCartney and Adam Sandler, who officiated.

Now the focus shifts back to football, where Kelce had briefly weighed retirement after a rough 2025 season. The Chiefs finished with six wins, marking the first time they had missed the playoffs since Mahomes became the starting quarterback.
Kansas City’s preseason begins Saturday, Aug. 15 against the Los Angeles Rams. The Chiefs will also face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Seattle Seahawks before the regular season opens. Their first game that counts comes Monday, Sep. 14 against the Denver Broncos.
