Parker Washington keeps stacking up the kind of performances that make a team’s early-season surge feel real, and Tom Brady noticed.
The Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver has been a big piece of the club’s 4-1 start, which includes a three-game winning streak, and his breakout showing in Week 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles pushed him further into the spotlight. In Jacksonville’s 19-17 win, Washington caught six passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns.
That earned a ringing endorsement from Brady, who said, “This guy's transformed from a fun story into an absolute dog. D-A-W-G.
Tom Brady called Parker Washington a “dawg” this week. We asked Washington what he thought about it.

Everyone knows the sixth round, that's where you look when you need talent, right? Come get it,” Brady said.
Brady was a sixth-round pick himself, going to the New England Patriots in 2000.
Washington, drafted by the Jaguars in the sixth round in 2023, didn’t overdo the moment when asked about the praise. Instead, he kept it measured and appreciative.
“I saw that. That means everything, you know, getting recognition from one of the greats.
Not even one, but the best. A great quarterback,” said the fourth-year pass-catcher in the video posted by Action Sports Jax.
“That's just motivation to keep going. Even my mindset, no matter what, I just want to go out here and continue to do my best.”
When reminded that Brady was also a sixth-round pick, Washington smiled and leaned into the shared draft slot.
“Come on. Some special players in that round. Let's keep it going,” added Washington with a smile.
The numbers keep backing up the rise. Through five games, Washington has 22 catches for 352 yards and four touchdowns, putting him well ahead of his previous pace. Last season, he finished with team highs of 847 yards and five touchdowns in 16 games.
If he stays on this track, a first Pro Bowl nod won’t sound far-fetched.

Texans Arrive In London With A Problem Jaguars Can Exploit
Houstons trip to London comes with a few significant holes, and the Jaguars will be paying close attention. The Texans are set to be without wide receiver Tank Dell, running back David Montgomery, and safety Jalen Pitre for the matchup, leaving them shorthanded on both sides of the ball. For Jacksonville, that matters especially on defense, because the Jaguars have leaned into a strong passing game and now get an opponent missing some key pieces in the secondary and at the skill spots.
For a Jaguars team looking to stack another win overseas, the matchup has suddenly tilted a bit in their favor. Missing Dell changes the Texans options in the passing game, and Pitres absence creates another test for a defense already trying to manage Jacksonvilles aerial attack. There is still plenty of football to be played in London, but the Jaguars have a clear opening to press an undermanned Houston roster and make the most of it. [Read more 🡒]
Jaguars Face A Deadline Decision That Could Define Their Defense
With the 2026 NFL trade deadline still ahead, the Jaguars are already being linked to a familiar kind of midseason shopping list: defensive help that could change the feel of the roster in a hurry. The possibilities range across the front seven and the secondary, with names like Moro Ojomo, Khalil Mack and Zach Sieler coming up as potential fits for a team that could use more impact up front and more stability behind it.
Brandon Stephens also enters the discussion as part of the broader search for help on the back end, where the Jaguars would be weighing not just talent but cost, contract status and how much sense each move makes for the roster around it. It is the sort of deadline forecast that says as much about Jacksonvilles priorities as it does about any one player, and the real question is whether the front office will be willing to pay the price to turn that speculation into a defensive upgrade. Brian Thomas Jr. Trade Buzz Puts Jaguars Fans On Edge
Trade chatter around Brian Thomas Jr. has added an uneasy note to the Jaguars buildup as the November 10 deadline approaches. The receiver is still under contract through 2027, and Jacksonville has not indicated any willingness to move him, but the buzz has centered on a possible deal with Las Vegas that would send draft capital back to the Jaguars in the form of future picks.
What makes the speculation so attention-grabbing is the blend of upside and uncertainty surrounding Thomas. His production has dipped, which is part of why a trade has even been floated, while the Raiders are weighing whether he could be the kind of long-term addition they want without having to surrender a first-round pick. For Jacksonville, the question is less about fit and more about whether a player with that kind of team control can really be considered available at all. [Read more 🡒]
