Liam Coen’s first year in Jacksonville has sparked a very different kind of reaction online: fans think the Jaguars coach looks like he’s aged fast.
Side-by-side photos of Coen from last year and now started making the rounds on X this week, and the contrast was enough to send the post viral. In the older image, Coen is dressed in a dark suit with a teal tie and wearing a broad smile. In the newer shot, he’s in a team hoodie vest, and the difference had fans doing double takes.
“Coen has aged ten years in just twelve months,” Dov Kleiman wrote.
The reaction comes after a busy run for Coen, who took the Jaguars job in January 2025. In his first season, he went 13-4 and won the AFC South.
The physical change, though, had already been noted months ago. The Associated Press reported in January that Coen had lost about 50 pounds.
According to that report, he changed his diet and rarely misses a workout. Hall of Famer Tony Boselli pushed Coen to make the change, the outlet said.
Coen summed up that first January in blunt fashion: “It wasn’t pretty,” he said.
That energy has shown up around the team, too. Tight end Brenton Strange said it carries over to the players.
“For our leader to have that juice and energy, gives us juice and energy as well,” Strange said.
The viral post drew plenty of jokes and guesses from users. “Did he take ozempic?
Looks like Ozempic face” one asked. “Why does he look like this guy lol” another fan wrote.
“This is what happens when Tony boselli calls you fat every day and tells you to hit the gym” one fan said. “he’s actually working out … not many coaches in the league can say they do” another fan offered.
That Ozempic speculation was just a fan theory. The AP report tied Coen’s transformation to diet and workouts, and did not mention medication.
Whatever the reason for the look, the results on the field have been hard to miss. Jacksonville beat the Bengals 22-17 on Sunday to move to 3-1, and Coen’s team also rolled past the Patriots 35-6 in Week 3.

Jaguars Fans Just Landed Near The Top Of A Surprising NFL List
A Harvard study taking a look at the political leanings of NFL fan bases put Jacksonville in an interesting spot, with Jaguars fans ranking near the top of the league on the Republican side of the ledger. The research also found that this kind of split usually tracks with geography, which gives the results some added context beyond the football itself.
For Jaguars supporters, the finding is less about a game-day identity than a broader snapshot of the city and region around the team. The study also came with an especially notable contrast elsewhere around the league, as Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has said he stays away from endorsing political candidates and instead encourages voter registration and independent decision-making. Bills Fans Will Feel Mitch Morses Heartbreaking Family News
Bills center Mitch Morse shared heartbreaking family news this week, announcing the death of his younger brother Robbie, who passed away last week at age 30. Robbie lived with lifelong disabilities after suffering severe brain trauma as an infant, a personal loss that quickly drew condolences from around the league, including from the Bills, the Jaguars and former teammates.
For Jacksonville fans, it is one more reminder of how closely connected this league can be, even across opposing locker rooms. Morse has long been one of the more respected voices in the AFC, and the response to his announcement reflected the kind of support players often lean on in moments like this, when football fades into the background and family comes first. Jaguars' Fast Start Comes With One Obvious Concern Fans Can't Ignore
Through four weeks, the Jaguars have put themselves in a familiar but welcome spot atop the AFC South at 3-1, and much of the early optimism has been easy to understand. Trevor Lawrence has looked sharper and more efficient in the passing game, Travis Hunter has quickly become a meaningful presence on defense, and the ground game has found real support from Chris Rodriguez Jr. and others. Even the run defense has held up as one of the leagues best, giving Jacksonville a sturdier all-around profile than it showed at times a year ago.
Brian Thomas Jr., though, remains the one piece that keeps the early run from feeling completely settled. For a team with real division ambitions, his slow start stands out because the Jaguars need more than just competence around Lawrence if they want this fast opening to translate into something lasting. The rest of the roster has given Jacksonville a strong foundation, but the passing attack could look even more dangerous if Thomas begins to match the expectations that came with his role.
