James Gladstone Stuns Fans Dismissing Brian Thomas Trade Rumors as Fraudulent

Jaguars GM James Gladstone firmly addresses recent trade rumors, reinforcing Brian Thomas Jr.s pivotal role in the teams future plans.

In the world of NFL rumors, it seems like the Jacksonville Jaguars are putting their foot down. General Manager James Gladstone made it clear on Thursday that wide receiver Brian Thomas isn't going anywhere, dismissing recent reports of trade talks as nothing more than “fraudulent claims.”

Gladstone didn't mince words when addressing the rumors. “I know the word ‘reputable’ came up earlier,” he said, referencing a previous question.

“I don’t think there’s been any reputable statement suggesting we were shopping Thomas. We have no real action on any of those fronts.

Considering where we ended last season with our passing attack, we’re not interested in disrupting that momentum.”

And why would they? Thomas, at just 23, has already shown flashes of brilliance.

He earned Pro Bowl honors as a rookie, racking up 87 receptions for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns. Sure, his 2025 season numbers dipped a bit-48 catches for 707 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games-but the Jaguars see him as a cornerstone for their future.

Gladstone emphasized Thomas's importance to the team. “I care more for what weight that might put on Brian himself when it’s something that’s entirely out of his control and unnecessary,” he said.

“When faced with fraudulent claims, you focus on what you can control and do what’s best for the Jaguars. That’s our priority.”

It’s clear the Jaguars are committed to building on their current success, and Thomas is a big part of that vision. With the front office’s backing, fans can expect to see more of Thomas lighting up the field in Jacksonville.
