The biggest hit on the Jaguars’ Week 2 injury report isn’t a practice note or a limited tag - it’s the loss of B.J. Green II.
Jacksonville’s defensive end is on injured reserve after hurting his elbow early in the Week 1 win over Cleveland, leaving a real opening in both the pass rush rotation and on special teams. The Jaguars moved quickly by signing B.J. Ojulari, but that kind of production does not get replaced overnight.
Outside of Green, the picture is mostly positive for Jacksonville as it heads to Denver. Brian Thomas Jr. was listed as Limited with a shoulder issue after re-aggravating it in Week 1, though he was seen at Wednesday’s practice without a non-contact jersey. That makes him a player to watch, but not one currently considered in danger of missing Sunday.
The rest of Jacksonville’s limited group also appears on track to play. Jakobi Meyers is dealing with a thumb injury, LeQuint Allen Jr. with a hip issue, Foye Oluokun with a wrist injury, and Cole Van Lanen with a knee problem, but all four are expected to suit up.
Denver has its own injury questions to sort through. Harvey did not practice Wednesday because of a hamstring issue, while Mims was held out with a foot injury. Those two names will be worth monitoring as the week goes on and more reports come in.
Even with the setback on Green, Jacksonville enters Week 2 in good shape health-wise, with most of the roster trending toward full availability for Sunday’s game in Denver.
