The Kansas City Chiefs are already working the phones ahead of the NFL trade deadline, and the search appears to be centered on one spot in particular: wide receiver.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter said on “The Pat McAfee Show” that Kansas City has been reaching out around the league as Nov. 10 approaches.
“They have been calling around, and I don’t think it would be a surprise to see them continue to attempt to add a wide receiver before the trade deadline two weeks from tomorrow,” Schefter said of the Chiefs on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
“I do think that they will be calling around for wide receivers, and they will attempt to look to upgrade that position,” he added.
The urgency makes sense. Rashee Rice is hurt, Xavier Worthy has also fallen short of expectations this season, and Tyquan Thornton is now dealing with a significant leg injury that will keep him out for several weeks. That leaves Kansas City thin at the position, with the room looking more vulnerable than dangerous.
There’s also the Tyreek Hill angle. The Chiefs reportedly showed interest in the former Kansas City receiver as a possible option, but his return remains a question mark. He is working back from the major knee injury he suffered last season, and there’s no certainty about when he’ll be ready or how effective he’ll be.
That’s why a trade feels like the more likely route, even if Hill eventually enters the mix too.
Among the names to watch are Buffalo’s Joshua Palmer, Indianapolis’ Keenan Allen and Jacksonville’s Brian Thomas Jr.
Palmer hasn’t popped up in trade chatter specifically, but his start in Buffalo has gone sideways. He’s been barely used, totaling just four catches for 117 yards.
He also remains a clear cut candidate in 2027, which gives the Bills a reason to consider moving him now and salvaging something from a rough free-agent signing. The question is whether Buffalo would send him to an AFC opponent like Kansas City.
Allen could become available if the Colts keep losing. On Sunday, Schefter and Ian Rapoport reported that Indianapolis might begin selling off pieces before the deadline, and Allen’s one-year deal makes him a logical name to surface in those talks.
Thomas is the most eye-catching possibility. He’s only 24 and had a 1,200-yard season in 2024, but his production has nosedived since then. He has become an afterthought in Jacksonville’s offense, and ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that “multiple league execs believe Jacksonville will seriously consider trading” the former first-round pick.
For now, those three stand out as the most realistic options for the Chiefs. And as the deadline gets closer, more names could easily enter the conversation.

Jaguars Could Make A Deadline Move Fans Never Saw Coming
With the NFL trade deadline approaching, the Jaguars are at least looking hard at a couple of options that would have sounded unlikely not long ago. Brandon Cleveland is entering the final stretch of his contract, which gives Jacksonville a chance to see whether there is any value to be found in moving him now rather than letting his situation play out later.
Jourdan Lewis is the more surprising name in the conversation, especially for a player who has served as both a nickel cornerback and a team captain. Still, the idea is less about anything Lewis has done wrong than about how Jacksonville might try to rework its defense if the right deal materializes, even if these possibilities remain only speculative for now. Jaguars Could Catch Ravens At A Brutal Time For Baltimore
Lamar Jacksons ankle injury has put Baltimore in a tough spot at exactly the wrong time. The Ravens downgraded him from questionable to out for the upcoming game against Cincinnati after he sustained a high-ankle sprain in Week 4, and now everything turns to the next matchup against Buffalo, where his status is still up in the air.
For Jacksonville, the timing matters because the Jaguars are watching a Ravens team that is much more dangerous when Jackson is on the field. Baltimore is expected to monitor his practice participation closely before deciding whether he is ready to return, leaving a key stretch of the schedule hanging on how quickly the quarterback can recover. Jaguars Could Finally Fix One Roster Problem At The Trade Deadline
The Jaguars have spent enough time dealing with the same interior defensive line issue that the trade deadline now feels like a real chance to patch it. With the defense looking for more push and sturdiness inside, the conversation has shifted toward veteran tackles who could help right away, and a few names have surfaced as possible fits for Jacksonvilles front.
Moro Ojomo, Daron Payne, Zach Sieler and Christian Covington all bring different appeals, whether it is age, role, contract situation or expected cost to acquire. The question for Jacksonville is less about whether help is available and more about which path makes the most sense, because any move would need to balance immediate impact with how much the Jaguars are willing to pay to solve a problem that has lingered for a while.
