The Jacksonville Jaguars have to get down to their initial 53-man roster by 6:00 PM ET on Sunday, and while GM James Gladstone still has decisions to make, most of the picture is already clear.
After one last projection, these are the players who look locked in at each spot as cutdown day arrives.
At quarterback, Trevor Lawrence and Quinn Ewers are the names firmly in place. The real question is whether Ewers is QB2 or whether Jacksonville keeps three quarterbacks on the roster.
The backfield looks just as defined with Bhayshul Tuten, Chris Rodriguez, and LeQuint Allen all included. The lingering issue there is whether the Jaguars find a way to keep Ameer Abdullah too.
Wide receiver features Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers, CJ Williams, and Josh Cameron. Even though late Day 3 picks are never automatic, Williams and Cameron have stood out with consistent production since landing in Jacksonville.
At tight end, Brenton Strange, Nate Boerkircher, and Tanner Koziol are the projected locks. That still leaves the fourth spot unsettled, with Quintin Morris and Hunter Long trying to make their case.
The offensive line group includes Anton Harrison, Ezra Cleveland, Robert Hainsey, Cole Van Lanen, Walker Little, Emmanuel Pregnong, Wyatt Milum, Jonah Monheim, and Daniel Faalele. Patrick Mekari is not included because he is a candidate to be placed on injured reserve and designated to return. Jacksonville’s trade for Faalele makes him a lock, while Edoga also appears to be in the mix even if that is not a certainty.
On the edge, Josh Hines-Allen, Travon Walker, BJ Green, Danny Striggow, and Wesley Williams are all in the projected group. The only real question there is whether Bryan Thomas Jr. can push Zach Durfee off the roster.
Defensive tackle looks pretty settled with Arik Armstead, DaVon Hamilton, Matt Dickerson, Albert Regis, and Ruke Orhorhoro all projected to make it. This is the most straightforward group on the defensive side.
At linebacker, Foye Oluokun, Ventrell Miller, Dennis Gardeck, and Branson Combs are the names to know. Jack Kiser could land on injured reserve and designated to return depending on where he is in his recovery, while Jalen McLeod, Jahlani Tavai, and Yasir Abdullah are competing for one to two spots.
The cornerback group is led by Travis Hunter, Montaric Brown, Jourdan Lewis, and Jarrian Jones. Jabbar Muhammad is probably in, while Christian Braswell may be on the outside looking in.
Safety also appears to be fairly settled with Eric Murray, Antonio Johnson, Caleb Ransaw, Jalen Huskey, and Rayuan Lane all projected to stick.
Special teams was listed as part of the roster breakdown, but no players were named in the source material.
