Jaguars Star Devin Lloyd Earns Pro Bowl Spot After Major AFC Change

After a standout season marked by rare defensive stats, Jaguars linebacker Devin Lloyd earns his first Pro Bowl nod as a replacement for the injured T.J. Watt.

Devin Lloyd Headed to 2026 Pro Bowl After Breakout Season with Jaguars

Devin Lloyd is packing his bags for San Francisco, and no, it’s not for a vacation. The Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker is officially Pro Bowl-bound, stepping in for Steelers star T.J.

Watt, who will miss the game due to injury. Lloyd had already been named a Pro Bowl alternate last month, and now he’s getting the nod to join the league’s elite at the 2026 Pro Bowl Games.

This isn’t just a ceremonial invite, either. Lloyd’s numbers this season speak volumes.

In 15 starts, he posted 74 tackles, 10 quarterback hits, six tackles for loss, five interceptions - including one he took to the house - seven passes defensed, 1.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery. That’s the kind of stat line that jumps off the page, and it’s no surprise he was also named a second-team All-Pro by the Associated Press.

To put Lloyd’s season in context: he’s only the second player in the last 20 years to log at least 10 QB hits and five interceptions in a single season. The last linebacker to do it?

Lavonte David back in 2013. That’s elite company, and it underscores just how much of a two-way force Lloyd has become - equally disruptive in coverage and in the backfield.

Jaguars GM James Gladstone didn’t hold back when reflecting on Lloyd’s impact this season.

“Such an impactful season. What he meant to our end result was certainly notable,” Gladstone said during his end-of-season press conference.

“The way in which he operated on a daily, weekly basis was really cool to watch and observe. He committed himself to being the best version.

The connection between him, the coaching staff was real. He was being deployed in the right ways.”

That connection Gladstone mentioned? It showed up every Sunday.

Lloyd wasn’t just flying around the field - he was playing with purpose, anticipation, and a clear understanding of how to disrupt opposing offenses. His instincts and versatility made him a chess piece for the Jaguars’ defense, and the coaching staff clearly knew how to get the best out of him.

He’ll be joined at the Pro Bowl by long snapper Ross Matiscik, giving the Jaguars multiple representatives at the event. And while long snappers don’t usually grab headlines, it’s a testament to the strength of Jacksonville’s special teams unit this year.

The Pro Bowl Games are set for Tuesday, February 3, airing at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN. And while the game itself has shifted toward a more skills-based showcase in recent years, Lloyd’s presence is a reminder that impact defenders still earn their way in the old-fashioned way - by making plays all over the field.

For a Jaguars team that’s building toward something bigger, Devin Lloyd’s rise is a major piece of the puzzle.
