The Jacksonville Jaguars open their 2026 preseason Saturday against the New Orleans Saints, and the first look at Liam Coen’s second year comes with a major caveat: the starters are staying parked.
Coen said the Jaguars will rest their first-team players, so this is more of a preview than a full unveiling. That means fans won’t get answers yet on how Trevor Lawrence is connecting with Parker Washington, whether Bhayshul Tuten is ready to grab RB1 duties, or if Brian Thomas Jr. carries his training camp form into live game action against cornerbacks.
Even so, there’s still plenty to watch. The Jaguars are expected to lean on their rookies, giving tight end Nate Boerkircher and receivers Josh Cameron and CJ Williams a chance to show what they can do against what’s expected to be an improved Saints defense. Fans could also see Travis Hunter on both sides of the ball for the first time since an injury ended his rookie season in October.

Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, Aug. 15, at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Coen had not named a starting quarterback as of Thursday afternoon.
The Jaguars’ 2026 preseason opener is the first step into a schedule that begins in Week 1 against Cleveland on Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. ET on CBS. Jacksonville then visits Denver on Sept. 20, hosts New England on Sept. 27, and travels to Cincinnati on Oct. 4, with all three games also on CBS.
The rest of the regular-season slate includes Philadelphia in London on Oct. 11 and Houston in London on Oct. 18, both at 9:30 a.m. ET on NFL Network, with Fox Channel 30 carrying those games in Jacksonville. The Jaguars then have a bye in Week 7 before hosting Indianapolis on Nov. 1 and playing at Baltimore on Nov. 5 on Amazon Prime.
Jacksonville’s remaining schedule runs through a string of familiar AFC matchups and national windows: at Tennessee on Nov. 15, at the New York Giants on Nov. 22, home against Tennessee on Nov. 29, at Chicago on Dec. 6, home against Pittsburgh on Dec. 13, at Houston on Dec. 20, at Dallas on Dec. 27, and home against Washington in Week 17.
