Jaguars Fans Knew Foye Oluokun Deserved More Respect Than This

Despite narrowly missing the top 10 in linebacker rankings, Foye Oluokun's consistent performance and growth on the Jacksonville Jaguars radar him as a player to watch.

Foye Oluokun got a little national recognition in Jeremy Fowler’s annual top linebacker rankings, even if it came in the form of a brief mention rather than a full-on spotlight.

In Fowler’s process, 70 NFL execs, coaches and scouts submit their top 10 linebackers, with additional research, interviews and film study from Matt Bowen helping shape the final list. Fowler then rolls out the top 10, a few honorable mentions and the players who received votes. Oluokun landed in that last group, which means at least one voter had him inside the top 10.

That fits the way Oluokun has been viewed in Jacksonville: dependable, steady and easy to overlook from the outside. Since joining the Jaguars, he’s been a durable presence in the middle of the defense, topping 1,100 snaps in three of the last four seasons and making a habit of cleaning up plays as a tackler. He’s also shown he can pressure the quarterback as a blitzer.

The biggest jump came in 2025, his first season in Anthony Campanile’s defense. Oluokun took a clear step forward in coverage, finishing with a career-high 11 pass deflections.

His previous best was seven. He also held pass-catchers to 8.4 yards per catch, a sign that he was in good position more often than not.

Liam Coen thinks there’s still room for more.

"I also think vision zone coverage helped him," Coen said. "Not being in man-match all the time and having your eyes on the receiver, having your eyes on the quarterback and being able to read his eyes, see the route start to distribute and then his studying and training and habits can just go allow him to play fast. Having vision on the quarterback, I thought he was a very underrated pass defender last year and I think he's getting better and better."

Jaguars linebackers coach Tem Lukabu echoed that view, saying Oluokun doesn’t always get the credit he deserves outside the building.

"My experience with him," said Lukabu, "having studied him and seen him from before I got in the building, as soon as I got in the building, I'm like, yeah, this guy is taken for granted because he's one of the most consistent people, consistent players, most intentional people that you'll ever see."

With another year in Campanile’s system ahead of him, Oluokun could be set up for even more.

Jaguars Suddenly Linked To A Veteran Fix For A Lingering Problem

The Dolphins have been quiet since the draft, but they still have a few roster questions to sort out before training camp, and one of them involves a veteran linebacker on an expiring deal. After a strong 2025 season, he looks like the kind of player a rebuilding team could move if the right offer comes along, especially with Miami trying to balance present value against future flexibility.

For Jacksonville, the appeal is obvious enough. The Jaguars lost Devin Lloyd in free agency and could use more help in the middle of the defense, which is why theyve popped up as a possible trade fit in the chatter around this situation. Bleacher Report even floated a late 2027 pick as the sort of return that might get a deal moving, leaving the real question less about whether the need exists and more about whether the price lines up. Jaguars Fans Are All Saying The Same Thing About Travis Hunters Look

Travis Hunters first NFL season gave Jaguars fans only a brief glimpse of what the 2025 first-round pick can do, but it was enough to keep the conversation going well into the offseason. After appearing in seven games before his year ended early, Hunter is still viewed as one of the most intriguing pieces on Jacksonvilles roster because of the rare way he can impact a game on both sides of the ball.

Recently posted photos from Hunters rookie season and offseason sent that buzz right back into overdrive, with fans noticing a different look almost immediately. The added bulk and new hairstyle became the latest talking point around a player who is expected to keep working at cornerback and wide receiver, with even more of the load likely to come on defense.
