Jaguars Face A Brian Thomas Jr Decision Fans Never Expected

As the NFL trade deadline nears, multiple teams show interest in acquiring Jaguars' wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., whose performance has waned since a standout rookie season.

The trade buzz around Brian Thomas Jr. is picking up fast, and three teams are now being linked to the Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Washington Commanders are all interested in making a deal for Thomas as the Nov. 10 trade deadline approaches.

Thomas has been a name floating through rumor circles for weeks. He was in the middle of similar speculation last season, too, when his production dipped sharply, but Jacksonville kept him around.

This year, the numbers have fallen even further. Thomas did find the end zone in Sunday’s rout of the Indianapolis Colts, giving him his second touchdown of the season, but he has only 11 catches for 117 yards in 2026.

That’s a steep drop from the breakout he delivered as a rookie in 2024, when he piled up 1,282 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns and looked like he was on the verge of stardom. Under Liam Coen, though, Thomas has struggled to settle into the offense and his role has shrunk dramatically.

Kansas City’s interest makes sense on paper. The Chiefs have an obvious need at receiver, and general manager Brett Veach told CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson that he expects to look into the market at the deadline.

Pittsburgh is also searching for help on offense around Aaron Rodgers, who has the Steelers off to a 6-2 start. Still, the report says the Steelers may be more focused on Josh Downs, who asked for a trade from the Colts. Germie Bernard had shown signs of coming on a few weeks ago, but the rookie has been held to 30 yards or fewer in each of the last two games.

Washington, meanwhile, is trying to find some juice after losing Terry McLaurin to a season-ending knee injury two weeks ago. That setback wiped out the one-two punch he had formed with Stefon Diggs.

Jaguars Get A Needed WR Boost Before A Huge Colts Test

The Jaguars got a timely boost on the eve of a crucial AFC South matchup, listing Jakobi Meyers as active for Week 8 against the Colts after earlier injury concerns had put his status in question. His availability gives Trevor Lawrence another reliable option in a game that carries real weight for Jacksonville, and it comes with Parker Washington also expected to be part of the receiving mix as the Jaguars try to keep pace in a division race that is tightening by the week.

Even with Meyers cleared to go, Jacksonville still enters the day with several players inactive, a reminder that the roster remains a work in progress as the schedule stiffens. Lawrence sounded confident about what this group can be, and this is the kind of matchup where that belief gets tested quickly, with the Colts offering a measuring stick and the Jaguars needing every available piece to make the most of it. Jaguars Face A Brutal Stretch That Makes Colts Game Feel Massive

The Jaguars are about to enter a stretch that makes Sundays meeting with the Colts feel bigger than a typical AFC South game. With EverBank Stadium renovations cutting into seating capacity, Jacksonville has only one true home game over a two-month span, and the schedule only gets less forgiving after Week 8. For a team trying to protect its place in the division, the comfort of home is about to disappear fast.

Jacksonville will head into three straight road games after facing Indianapolis before finally getting back to EverBank Stadium in Week 12. It is the kind of run that can reshape a season, especially for a team that needs every edge it can get while its home setup is in flux. And with the franchise already planning to play home games at Camping World Stadium in Orlando in 2027, the Jaguars are entering a period where the familiar feel of home may be harder to find than usual. Jaguars Just Delivered The Kind Of Win Fans Have Been Waiting For

The Jaguars finally put together the kind of complete performance their fans have been waiting to see, rolling past the Colts 42-7 to move to 5-2. Bhayshul Tuten was a big part of the statement win, topping 100 rushing yards, adding 55 more as a receiver and scoring twice, while Trevor Lawrence managed the offense efficiently with 210 passing yards and steady help from tight ends Brenton Strange and Nate Boerkircher.

Just as important, Jacksonvilles defense set the tone by taking away Indianapolis ground game and making Jonathan Taylor a non-factor, holding him to 23 yards on eight carries. It was the sort of all-around showing that can change the mood around a team quickly, especially when a division opponent gets overwhelmed from start to finish. [Read more 🡒]
