Day 2 of Jaguars training camp brought a different feel at the Miller Electric Center. After Wednesday leaned one way, Thursday turned into a much more even tug-of-war between Jacksonville’s offense and defense, which is exactly the kind of early back-and-forth that can sharpen a camp.
The biggest offensive name of the day was Parker Washington. The fourth-year receiver took the spotlight from Bhayshul Tuten, who still had another strong practice but wasn’t the top story this time. Washington was consistently open, especially underneath, and then made his loudest noise on the sideline, where his timing with Trevor Lawrence looked especially sharp.
That connection showed up early in team drills and 7-on-7 work. Washington found space over the middle with ease, but the real damage came on the boundary.
Lawrence dropped a tight throw into him against backup cornerback Keni-H Lovely, and Washington stayed in bounds for the grab. Later, he turned in the most impressive catch of the day when he went up against starting cornerback Montaric Brown on a downfield route and came down with an acrobatic, difficult catch.
The passing game as a whole looked more dangerous than it did on Day 1. Brian Thomas Jr. also had a couple of chunk plays from Lawrence, but Washington was the one who kept stacking moments and ultimately stole the show.
Travis Hunter was busy again, working plenty of team reps on both sides as he continues to ramp back up from last year’s injury. Thursday brought more involvement in the actual results of plays, too. He caught his first pass of training camp on a deep sideline route and was targeted a few times in coverage.
It wasn’t a spotless day for last year’s No. 2 pick. One pass thrown his way was broken up by undrafted rookie cornerback Devon Marshall Jr., and rookie wideout Josh Cameron also beat him on a route in team drills before the official ruled Cameron just out of bounds on the catch. Even so, Hunter’s workload keeps growing, and he’s becoming more and more involved on both sides of the ball.
The rookie class had a strong showing overall, and that has to be encouraging for the Jaguars’ brass. Some players, including Albert Regis and Emmanuel Pregnon, are still hard to evaluate without pads, but others made real noise.
Bhayshul Tuten was one of them again. He keeps showing up.
The second-year running back followed up Wednesday’s big day with more explosive runs on Thursday, and with Chris Rodriguez Jr. sidelined, he continues to get the bulk of the work as RB1. He has been running with Trevor Lawrence most of camp, and he has yet to have a quiet day.
The defense has been stopping plenty of runs even without pads, but Tuten has been a clear exception. He popped multiple gains on Wednesday and did the same thing again Thursday, keeping his momentum rolling through the first two days.
The day’s most impressive rookie catch belonged to Tanner Koziol. He went up and attacked the ball on a leaping downfield grab against Ventrell Miller, hauling in a pass from Nick Mullens for a big gain.
The play drew a big reaction from Koziol and from the fans watching. Koziol had been around the action plenty during the offseason, and this was his first major highlight of camp.

The Jaguars are still looking for ways to shore up a wide receiver room that could use more proven depth, and a recent visit from free agent Zay Flowers fits that search. Liam Coen confirmed the team hosted him, saying it was a chance to get him in and see what he looks like, with the added comfort that he already knows Trevor and knows Jacksonville.
Flowers brings a familiar name and some useful experience, but the interest comes with obvious caution. He missed the end of the 2025 season with an Achilles injury and has appeared in only 19 combined games over the last two seasons, so any move would be about balancing upside with availability as the Jaguars weigh whether he can help stabilize the group behind their top options. Jaguars Camp Sleepers Are Suddenly Crashing Two Key Roster Battles
Training camp has a way of sorting out the roster picture quickly, and this one has already put a few young Jaguars squarely into the conversation. Rookie defensive end Zach Durfee has flashed in team drills, undrafted cornerback Devon Marshall has made his presence felt in coverage, and wideouts Josh Cameron and CJ Williams have both turned in encouraging practice stretches as Jacksonville keeps evaluating the bottom half of the roster.
The intrigue now is whether those early reps will keep stacking up enough to make the decisions harder for the coaching staff. Durfee has been around the football in a way that gets noticed, Marshall is showing he belongs in the mix, and Williams has drawn especially strong notice from Liam Coen for how quickly he has taken to the offense. Cameron has also shown enough in recent work to stay on the radar, which is exactly the kind of camp development that can turn a quiet competition into a real problem for the front office. Bhayshul Tuten Just Sent A Message In Jaguars Camp
Bhayshul Tuten wasted little time making his case when Jaguars training camp opened, working with the first team and drawing plenty of attention from observers on day one. With Travis Etienne gone, Tuten entered camp as the presumed lead back, and the early usage suggested the Jaguars are at least willing to see what he can do with the offense around him.
The backfield still has some moving parts, though, with LeQuint Allen in the mix and Chris Rodriguez working back after offseason foot surgery. Jacksonville also appears headed toward a committee approach, so Tutens strong start may have sent a message, but it did not settle the pecking order just yet. [Read more 🡒]
