The next few days could go a long way in shaping the Jacksonville Jaguars’ roster picture.
With a joint practice and another preseason game on deck, the team is moving into a stretch where live reps should matter more than anything else. For a handful of players sitting on the bubble, that means there’s not much margin for error.
A strong showing could keep the door open. A quiet week could make the climb much harder.
At running back, J’Mari Taylor is in position to get more chances with LeQuint Allen sidelined for now. Taylor already turned in a solid preseason opener, and the question now is whether he can keep building on that and make a case for Jacksonville to carry a fourth back.
Austin Trammell is fighting a different kind of uphill battle at receiver. The room is crowded, and roster math could be the thing that works against him in the end. Still, he got some work on Tuesday with Parker Washington out, and he does bring special teams experience to the mix.
The tight end group has its own logjam. Brenton Strange, Nate Boerkircher and Tanner Koziol are the top three on the depth chart, which leaves Quintin Morris and Hunter Long competing for what may be a single opening if Jacksonville decides to keep a fourth tight end at all.
Linebacker could get interesting if the Jaguars choose to go heavy there again. They kept six linebackers last year, and if they do that again, Yasir Abdullah and Jalen McLeod would be battling for one of those spots.
Abdullah helped his case with a strong preseason opener and also has special teams value. McLeod brings flexibility, with the ability to line up at edge rusher if needed.
Christian Braswell is another name to watch. He saw regular snaps as last season wore on, but his hold on a roster spot is not secure.
Jabbar Muhammad has been performing well, and if Jacksonville keeps only five cornerbacks, Braswell could be the one squeezed out. UDFA Devon Marshall is also in the mix and could add more pressure.

Jaguars O-Line Move Just Raised A Bigger Patrick Mekari Concern
The Jaguars added another body to a battered offensive line Sunday, acquiring Daniel Faalele from the Giants in exchange for a late 2027 draft pick. Faalele gives Jacksonville a versatile reserve with experience at multiple spots up front, which is exactly the kind of insurance a team starts shopping for when the injury list begins to thin out its depth.
The move also casts a little more light on the situation around Patrick Mekari, who recently had a back procedure and remains a question mark for the lineup. Jacksonville has not decided whether he will go on injured reserve, and until theres a clearer answer, every shuffle along the line will carry extra weight for a group that can least afford another hit. Jaguars Joint Practice Puts Three Big Camp Questions Under Pressure
The Jaguars are back on the field with Carolina for their second joint practice of the summer, and the session comes with a few camp questions still hanging in the air. Jacksonvilles pass rush depth remains worth watching, especially in a setting where live reps can expose how much pressure the front can create beyond the top names.
Up front, the offensive line is still getting sorted through injuries, with one possible setup featuring Emmanuel Pregnon at left guard, Ezra Cleveland at right guard and Walker Little at right tackle. Travis Hunter is another key piece in the mix, and after getting regular offensive work earlier in camp, he has spent almost every snap over the last two days at cornerback, keeping his role one of the most intriguing decisions in camp.
