Dyami Brown is heading back to familiar territory, rejoining the Washington Commanders after a season with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The wide receiver has inked a one-year deal worth up to $3 million, marking a return to the team where his NFL journey began.
Reflecting on his time in Jacksonville, Brown feels more prepared for his second stint in Washington. “Mentally, I’ve grown a lot,” Brown shared.
“I’ve gained a deeper understanding of the game, learning from teammates like Jakobi Meyers and Brian Thomas Jr., and even picking up insights from Trevor [Lawrence]. It’s given me a new perspective.”
In Jacksonville, Brown was brought in for his speed and potential to stretch the field, offering a dynamic vertical threat and versatility in offensive schemes. Despite these promising attributes, he struggled to find his footing within the Jaguars' offense. His role diminished over time, ultimately leading to him being sidelined in several games.
Brown's season concluded with 20 receptions for 227 yards and a touchdown, as he found himself behind Tim Patrick on the depth chart. The arrival of Jakobi Meyers and the return of Travis Hunter bolstered the Jaguars' wide receiver corps, with Parker Washington and Brian Thomas Jr. stepping into significant roles.
As Brown returns to Washington, he brings with him valuable lessons and experiences from his time in Jacksonville, ready to make a renewed impact with the Commanders.
