“T.J. called the tech to get everyone to calm down,” explained teammate Tamin Lipsey. “That’s just Nate. His intensity is what makes him unique, and it’s a good thing overall.”

In the second half, under Tennessee State’s rim, Heise found himself tangled with an opponent. After a minor skirmish earlier, tensions were high. Heise, never one to back down, engaged with a light push and some well-timed trash talk, reminding the Tiger player of the impending end to their season.
“It’s crucial to let the game finish without incident when you’re ahead,” Heise reflected. “Emotions run high when it’s their last game, but you can’t let others dictate your actions. I was just making sure we kept things cool and avoided unnecessary drama.”
