Iowa State now knows the road map for its 2026-27 Big 12 grind.
The Big 12 released the league schedule for the Cyclones on Friday, and the slate opens fast. Iowa State starts conference play at home on Jan. 2 against defending Big 12 champion Arizona, then heads right into a stretch that will keep it moving.
The Cyclones’ first road game comes Jan. 5 at Colorado, followed by a home date with Oklahoma State on Jan. 9 before a Texas trip that sends them to Houston on Jan. 13 and Texas Tech on Jan. 16.
The middle of the schedule brings a familiar mix of home comfort and road work. BYU visits Hilton Coliseum on Jan. 20, and Iowa State follows that with a trip to UCF on Jan.
- After that Florida swing, the Cyclones get consecutive home games against Kansas State on Jan. 30 and Utah on Feb.
Another road-heavy stretch arrives next, with Iowa State at West Virginia on Feb. 6 and at Oklahoma State on Feb. 10.
Kansas then comes to Ames on Feb. 13, kicking off another pair of home games as Cincinnati visits on Feb. 16.
The final weeks are loaded with marquee matchups and long trips. Iowa State goes to Arizona State on Feb. 19, marking its first road trip to Tempe in two years, then closes that swing at Baylor on Feb. 23 before returning home for TCU on Feb.
- The Cyclones will also be on ESPN’s Big Monday on March 1, when they travel to Lawrence to face Kansas.
The regular season ends at Hilton Coliseum on March 6 against West Virginia.
The Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament is set for March 9-13 at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo.

Iowa State heads into Week 3 at 1-1, with the defense carrying much of the early load and the offense still looking for a steadier rhythm. The Cyclones held Iowa to 16 points in a game that showed they can lean on physical play and disciplined defense, and running back Breece Flora gave them a useful spark with 89 rushing yards on 19 carries.
Now the question is whether Flora can turn that performance into something bigger at Bowling Green. Iowa State Faces A Huge Guard Problem At The Worst Time
Iowa States backcourt depth took a hit before the season even got rolling, with guard Killyan Toure undergoing shoulder surgery in August and now not expected back until mid to late January.
