The Big 12 has locked in the start time for Iowa State’s home date with West Virginia.
The Mountaineers will visit Jack Trice Stadium on October 3 for an 11:00 a.m. CT kickoff, with the game set to air on TNT.
It will be West Virginia’s first trip to Ames since Iowa State’s 31-14 win in 2022. The teams last played in 2024, when the Cyclones won 28-16 in Morgantown.
Iowa State is 2-1 heading into Week 4, where the Cyclones host No. 15 Utah at 2:30 p.m.
CT on FOX. West Virginia enters Week 4 at 3-0 after a top 25 win over Virginia and will host Oklahoma State, also 2-1, in Morgantown on Saturday.
This matchup will be the second conference game of the season for both teams. Iowa State and West Virginia have met 12 times overall and are dead even at 6-6.
Iowa State wrapped up nonconference play in Week 3 with a 55-7 win over Bowling Green at Jack Trice Stadium. The Cyclones opened the season with a 28-point win over SEMO, then fell 16-13 at rival Iowa in Week 2.
The West Virginia game could also carry some ranking intrigue. If the Mountaineers beat Oklahoma State, Rich Rodriguez and his team could move into the Top 25. If that happens, Iowa State would face three Top 25 opponents in the first five games of the Jimmy Rogers era.
Jack Trice Stadium has also been a tough place to crack when it comes to attendance. Iowa State has drawn at least 50,000 fans to every home game since the 2011 season, and that streak held even through heat and rain in the first two home games of 2026. With a homecoming crowd expected and fans encouraged to wear cardinal, the Utah game should only add to the buzz before West Virginia comes to town.
