BC Tauragė has added a proven perimeter threat for its first run in the Lithuanian Basketball League, bringing in former Iowa State guard Donovan Jackson.
The club announced the signing Sunday, and Jackson becomes the first player from the United States on Tauragė’s roster for its LKL debut. In its release, team officials said they expect him to bring ball control and perimeter shooting to the lineup.
Jackson spent two seasons at Iowa State and made his biggest mark as a senior in 2017-18. He started 30 games that year and averaged 15.0 points, 2.1 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game. He also buried 95 three-pointers, the fifth-most in a single season in school history, while shooting 40.1% from deep.
One of his most memorable college moments came in his junior season, when he hit a game-clinching 3-pointer in overtime to snap the University of Kansas’ 51-game home winning streak.
His pro career began in the Czech Republic in the 2018-19 season, and since then he has played in Greece, Poland, Estonia and Mexico. Along the way, he has competed in events including the FIBA Europe Cup, VTB League and FIBA Champions League qualifiers.
Jackson’s strongest professional stretch came in the 2020-21 season with Polski Cukier Toruń in Poland, where he averaged 18.3 points and 4.3 assists while shooting 41.1% on three-pointers. More recently, he appeared in five games for Kolossos Rhodes in the Greek top league and averaged 7.8 points. He closed that stint with a 30-point outing against Aris.

Iowa State May Be Headed For A Frontcourt Shift Nobody Expected
With only two returning starters back, Iowa State is heading into the new season with a frontcourt that looks different in both personnel and function. Blake Buchanan remains part of the picture, but the Cyclones also have to replace Joshua Jeffersons unique blend of ballhandling, spacing and connective offense, the kind of role that made the whole structure work in ways a typical big man spot never quite captures.
Dominykas Pleta is expected to take on a much larger share after serving as Buchanans primary backup last season, and that opens the door to some lineup choices the staff may not have leaned on before.
