College Coach Flashes Wife In Jaw-Dropping Twist

Newly appointed Providence coach Bryan Hodgson charms with humor and a track record of success, sparking optimism for the program's future.

Bryan Hodgson didn't waste any time winning over the Providence fan base. On March 22, Providence announced Hodgson as the new head coach for their men's basketball team.

His impressive tenure at South Florida, leading them to a 25-9 record and an NCAA Tournament appearance, certainly turned heads. Although South Florida, a No. 11 seed, fell to No. 6 seed Louisville, Providence was eager to bring Hodgson on board.

Providence College President Fr. Kenneth Sicard, O.P., expressed his excitement: "We are thrilled to have Bryan Hodgson join Providence College as the leader of our men’s basketball program.

Bryan brings a strong track record of leadership and a deep commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the court. His dedication to integrity, hard work, and competitive excellence aligns closely with the values of Providence College.

I am confident that the future is bright for Friar men’s basketball, and I eagerly anticipate seeing the team reach new milestones under their new leader’s guidance.”

Hodgson was officially introduced as the head coach this Tuesday, and he made quite the impression with a memorable comment about his wife that quickly went viral. "If you ever want to question my recruiting abilities just look at my wife Jordan," Hodgson quipped to the media. It’s not the usual fare for an introductory press conference, but it resonated well.

The college basketball community seemed to appreciate Hodgson's humor. Barstool Sports' Big Cat called it a "Vintage Football Guy press conference quote," while fans praised it as a clever way to showcase his recruiting skills.

The real test lies ahead as Hodgson aims to elevate Providence's program. But for now, he’s got the fans firmly in his corner, eagerly anticipating what’s next for the Friars under his leadership.
