Iowa Lands Top Wisconsin Guard as First Commit for 2027 Season

Iowa taps into its Wisconsin pipeline once again with a standout junior guard as the first piece of its 2027 recruiting class.

Iowa Women’s Basketball Adds Another Wisconsin Star in 2027 Commit Jada Seubert

The Iowa women’s basketball program has built a reputation for tapping into Wisconsin talent, and that pipeline just got stronger.

Jada Seubert, a 5-foot-11 junior guard out of Stevens Point, Wis., has officially committed to the Hawkeyes, becoming the first pledge in Iowa’s 2027 recruiting class. It’s a significant addition for a program that has consistently found high-level production from its northern neighbor.

Seubert is the kind of player who jumps off the stat sheet and the film. Through her junior season, she’s putting up 23.5 points per game while also contributing across the board - 6.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 3.4 steals per contest.

That’s the profile of a do-it-all guard who can impact the game on both ends of the floor. Her Stevens Point squad is 11-3 on the year, and Seubert is a big reason why.

She’s currently ranked No. 66 nationally in the 2027 class by Prep Girls Hoopsx and holds the top spot in the state of Wisconsin. That kind of recognition doesn’t come easy - especially in a state that’s quietly become a hotbed for women’s hoops talent.

For Iowa, this commitment continues a trend. Seubert joins a growing list of Wisconsin natives who’ve suited up in black and gold.

Current Hawkeyes Taylor Stremlow (Verona) and Teagan Mallegni (McFarland) will be seniors by the time Seubert arrives on campus. And, of course, there’s the legacy of Megan Gustafson - the 2019 national player of the year from Port Wing, Wis. - whose dominance helped elevate the program to national prominence.

The Hawkeyes have clearly found a formula that works: identify versatile, high-IQ players with a competitive edge - and Wisconsin keeps delivering. With Seubert now in the fold, Iowa’s future backcourt continues to take shape, and the Dairyland-to-Iowa City connection shows no signs of slowing down.
