The Indianapolis Colts have had the Tennessee Titans' number for a while now, boasting a six-game winning streak and a dominant 41-22 record in their matchups. Last season alone, the Colts outscored the Titans 69-34, and those games could have been even more one-sided.
But hold onto your hats, because the Titans are making waves in free agency, committing over $300 million to reshape their roster. They've brought in two seasoned coaches, Robert Saleh as head coach and Brian Daboll as offensive coordinator, and have surrounded their former No. 1 pick, Cam Ward, with a wealth of talent.
For years, the Titans were seen as easy wins on the Colts' schedule. That's no longer the case. The AFC South is gearing up to be one of the most fiercely contested divisions, with Saleh's squad poised to make some noise.
Cam Ward had flashes of brilliance last season, but he lacked a true go-to receiver. With Calvin Ridley missing ten games, tight end Chig Okonkwo led with just 560 receiving yards. Enter Wan'Dale Robinson, who knows Daboll's system well and has improved each year.
The Titans didn't stop there. They fortified their offensive line with center Austin Schlottmann, who earned a top-tier pass-blocking grade, ranking fourth among 40 centers.
Defensively, the Titans had their struggles, giving up the fourth-most points and ranking poorly in total yards allowed. But with Saleh's defensive acumen, they've added key players like John Franklin-Myers, Alontae Taylor, Cordale Flott, and reunited Saleh with Jordan Elliott from his successful 49ers tenure.
The big question is whether these moves will translate into success on the field. Saleh's track record suggests he can turn things around quickly, and the Titans are aiming to be a formidable opponent come 2026. Meanwhile, the Colts, having made fewer moves, might find themselves facing a much tougher challenge than in previous years.
