Taylor Swift had plenty to react to during the Chiefs’ overtime win over the Colts, but one moment in particular has now taken on a life of its own.
Kansas City’s 40-yard game-winning field goal from Harrison Butker ended a wild Sunday Night Football finish, but the sequence before that nearly sent the game in a different direction. Colts wide receiver Laquon Treadwell hauled in a deep overtime pass and then appeared to fumble, a turnover that would have ended things with a Chiefs recovery.
After review, though, the play was ruled a catch and down by contact, giving Indianapolis another chance. The Colts cashed in with a game-tying field goal before Patrick Mahomes guided Kansas City back into range for the winner.
Swift, who had already gone viral earlier in the game for celebrating a Travis Kelce touchdown, was caught on a now-viral TikTok video from user @henrytaterdoodle reacting to the overturned call in real time. The clip shows her stunned response as the decision changed.
Swift can be seen screaming, “No! Stop! We know you need your ratings, but this is dumb!!!”
At first, some fans assumed she was reacting to one of the many cutaways to her in the suite at Arrowhead. But the video made it clear her frustration was tied to the overtime review.
A separate angle from the crowd showed Swift riding the whole emotional wave of the sequence - thrilled at the apparent fumble, waiting through the review, angry when the call was reversed, and then happy once the Chiefs finished the job.
It’s a strong sign Travis Kelce has turned Swift into a full-blown football fan. By the end of it all, she looked ready to storm out of the suite and argue with the officials herself.
In the end, Kansas City escaped with the win and moved to 2-0.
