Simone Biles says a recent car theft in Chicago pushed her and husband Jonathan Owens to make a change at home.
In a TikTok video posted Monday, Sept. 21, the Olympic gold medalist said three masked men broke into their Chicago home and stole her Porsche. Biles said the car was later recovered, and she and Owens are “onto the next.”
“Feel like I need a new car because during our last few months in Chicago, three men in mask[s] came to our house and stole my Porsche,” Biles said in the clip. “Stole the GTS.”
She added that the incident was one reason the couple got a Doberman Pinscher named Remi for protection.
“But that's another story. If you guys wanna know, I'll do a 'storytime' on that.
I feel like I need a reality TV show. The things that happen to me are absolutely insanity.
And so it would be really easy for producers to just film regularly.”
Biles did not go into more detail about the alleged theft. USA TODAY reached out to her representatives and the Chicago Police Department for comment, but did not receive a response.
She said she was already shopping for a replacement and had planned to check out Porsche, Audi and Lamborghini dealerships. In the end, Porsche won out again.
“Then we went over to Porsche. They had Cayenne GTS, and, baby, when they turn that thing on, I was sold.
I felt like Tiffany Haddish from 'Girls Trip,'" Biles said. “‘Give it to me, I want it.
Give it to me.’ So, we never even made it to Lambo.”
Biles also confirmed she plans to officially move to the Indianapolis area later, according to a People magazine article. Owens plays for the Colts.
“I’ve been in Houston most of the time, so I’m going to officially move there (to Indianapolis) a little bit later,” she told the magazine early in September. “So I haven’t experienced too much, but the stadium is stunning.
It’s beautiful. I’m just excited to watch my husband.
“It doesn’t matter, as long as he’s safe and healthy and he’s having fun, then I don’t care.”

The Colts spent Wednesday sorting through more edge-rushing options, bringing in three players for workouts as they continue to look for help on the outside.
