Former Colts center Jeff Saturday says the lasting image from Super Bowl XLI wasn’t the trophy lift or the rain-soaked confetti. For him, it was the chaos after the game - family members spilling onto the field, and one unforgettable exchange with his 6-year-old son, Jeffrey.
Saturday said his favorite memory came “post game,” when “All my family, my wife Karen, her parents, my parents, my kids, all jumping over the wall to get on the field.” He described the scene at the end of the Colts’ title win: rain coming down hard, confetti everywhere, and everyone buzzing as the Lombardi Trophy moved from player to player.
Then came the moment that stuck with him most. Saturday said his oldest son ran up and told him, “Dad, dad, guess what, guess what.”
At first, he and Karen thought the child was reacting to the championship itself. Instead, Jeffrey proudly announced, “Dad, dad look, they gave me a Xbox game.”
Saturday said the family burst out laughing because, as he put it, “We don’t even own an Xbox.” He recalled the contrast of the moment clearly: adults celebrating the top of the football world while a 6-year-old zeroed in on the game he had been handed. Savannah was 4 at the time, and Josh had just been born and was not at the game.
That mix of triumph and family perspective is why Saturday said it remains his top memory from the night. “At the pinnacle of winning it all and here’s a 6-year-old to make sure you remember perspective, so that’s probably my greatest memory.”
Saturday spent 13 seasons with the Colts and was a five-time Pro Bowler during his time in Indianapolis.

Spencer Shrader Put Colts History In Play Even In A Loss
Even in a loss to the Steelers, there were a few Colts performances worth circling for reasons beyond the final score. Spencer Shrader handled the kicking duties cleanly, converting every field goal and extra point he tried, and Tyler Warren continued building an impressive early rsum with another game that put him alongside some notable franchise company at tight end.
Akeem Davis-Gaither also kept showing up around the ball, finishing with seven tackles for the fifth straight game in which he reached that mark. Still, Shraders night stood out most because of how much of the offense he accounted for in a game where Indianapolis had to lean on every point it could find, and there was a larger piece of team history hanging in the background as the Colts tried to salvage something from an otherwise frustrating result. Colts Have A Real Chance To Rebound But One Problem Lingers
The Colts head into Week 6 with a chance to steady themselves against a Titans team that has not found its footing offensively, and the matchup on paper gives Indianapolis a real path back to .500. Tennessee has spent much of the early season searching for answers under center, with Cam Wards struggles continuing to shape the conversation around the franchise as the season moves along.
Indianapolis, though, is not walking into a clean fix-all game. Even with the Colts installed as a touchdown favorite, there is still a lingering issue on the other side of the ball, and it is one that could keep this from being a simple rebound opportunity. If the Colts are going to take advantage of a vulnerable division opponent, they will need to be sharper than they have been in some recent defensive outings. [Read more 🡒]
Colts Win Over Steelers Looks Bigger After Another WR Blow
The Colts win over Pittsburgh already carried some weight, but it may look even better now with the Steelers taking another hit at wide receiver. Roman Wilson went down with a finger injury during the game and is expected to miss multiple weeks, adding another layer of concern for a Pittsburgh passing game that was already short on healthy options.
Wilson is seeking a second opinion, which only underscores how unsettled the situation is for the Steelers as they move into the next stretch of the schedule. With Michael Pittman Jr. already on injured reserve and limited depth behind him, Indianapolis defense may have helped expose a problem that could linger for more than one week. [Read more 🡒]
